Here the Rebels seem to be doing most of the winning, even against all ship Imperial builds. I think maybe your local area has some work to do lol.

As a player of rebels, my imperial friend has stopped playing until he gets his imperial star destroyer to "crush the damned assault frigates once and for all". Now I have discovered vassal, and can make more people hate the 'damned' assault frigates. Its the circle of lif- er, something. Anyways, go 7th fleet.

As for my original post.. Ive seen absolutely nothing that directly stops a 3 Glad 2 VSD list @ 400 pts. Nothing. It's not even CLOSE. Oh I've seen some halfway decent suggestions... all of which have been tried, and do NOT work.. at all..

In fact, all of the insults, hyperbole and other nonsense being tossed around.. not ONE of you has put a list next to your name that you are willing to stand by that beats this current Imperial Meta list. It is almost as if the game is meant to be played at a different point total in its current state...

@nazgull2k1 : There's your problem right there. You think lists make the game, and don't consider the playing aspect of the game I've had the same experience in W40k where I took "suboptimal" lists against beefy netlists and wiped the floor with them because the guy in front didn't play well.

The VGGG player won not only because of his list but also because he was a good player. I feel it is insulting to reduce him to simply his list building skill and not consider his tabletop.

I think it's the fact that Wave 2 was announced ad spoiled a very long time before dropping in stores If it hadn't been, then the wait would not be as long

In my opinion that only covers it partly. I understand that rules-tweeking and producing of the models takes time, and I am ok with it as I like to have a quality product which does not need abundant FAQs or Erratas to be enjoyable.

But I have serious issues with the way FFG is announcing new stuff, or the lack of announcements. Let us have some insights on the progress, FFG - is it so hard to give, say, a monthly summary on what has been achieved, or what is it the developers are on at the moment? These annoying gabs between information slowly drain my mood.. They dropped the coreset on us (granted, the delay in wave 1 was beyond FFGs control!) and kept us waiting with little to no info, then dropped wave 1 on us, which I still do not consider as the full game experience, and keep more or less silent since then, except for a single article about wave 2 stuff which is now months old. The PR team at FFG needs to step up their game in my eyes, and start to tease people on a regular basis to keep them excited. Give us some small goodies, explain a single new game mechanic or interview somebody from the developers team, its basic PR stuff..

My fencing coach taught me to keep doing what worked, and if it didn't work then, it was on me to change my tactics. It's a meta problem, and with no squadrons the exploit is dead easy.

The thing is the VSDx2 GSDx3 list has been played and replayed, so it may take a bit more than a game or two of practice, but give it time and this would be about the right thing I think.

The problem there is that we would have endless threads debating, demanding, and whining about whether the ISD will be included and threatened rage quits if it wasn't in wave 2. If I've learned anything from the internet it's there is no making people happy. If wave 2 was out already, we'd have people complaining the waves were too quick making the game too expensive.

Definitely, people like to complain. It's actually good, because it means they are looking towards the future and what could be better rather than just being content of the present. It's also bad because it gives them heart conditions and high blood pressure

@nazgull2k1 your first mistake (among many) is you are obviously judging the game at 400 points when the fine folks at Fantasy Flight Games have not yet released content to balance the game at 400 points. You are either an obvious troll or genuinely upset with the game. My suggestion is to sell your armada collection and play a less competitive and strategic game like Go Fish. I agree, something along these lines is a brutal counter to the 2Vic 3GSD list.

Shame none of the 'real' rebel ships currently make the cut but the AFII is definitely the hard counter to imperial sillyness..

From my favourite online retailer I see:

Core set = £55.81

Assault Frigate MkII = £26.41

Rebel Fighter pack = £12.69

55.81 + (3 x 26.41) + (5 x 12.69) = £198.49

Did I do something wrong? IIRC there's only 2 Y-wing squadrons per pack. I would love to know what retailer you're using (delivery included in price please) if you're getting cheaper.
