Online card databases and deck builders

By Jimorie, in General Discussion

Hello!

What are the existing options for online card databases and deck builders for AGoT 2.0?

I'm an old player of the CCG that has been out of the loop for some years and now looking forward to start playing the second edition. Back in the days my favorite AGoT site was http://www.tzumainn.com/agot/ but that is no longer available.

I have found the http://www.cardgamedb.com/ site, and that seems to be great and all. But I'm still curious if there are other alternatives out there? What are your favorite online resource for the second edition?

Thanks!

CGDB.com is owned by FFG so much of the LCG talk is over there, not here. There are several podcasts and a youtube channel or two that I am aware of.

Specifically for Thrones, a lot, including organization of tournaments over OCTGN, happens at http://www.agotcards.org/ . It is actually very reminiscent of tzumainn's site from back in the day.

The deckbuilder and card database has not been updated for 2.0 yet, but it is coming.

Why is AGOTcards popular? I've never cared for it and its deckbuilder was always a pain in the neck.

Different strokes, I guess. None of the deckbuilders are perfect.

My guess is that some of its popularity is rooted in it being "Thrones only" instead of all LCGs. The environment is also a little looser and feels more informal.

thronesdb.com , agotgame.com , http://deckbauer.telfador.net , and the in-built OCTGN deckbuilder are all options.

Community-wise, my recommendation would be to start with this thread, the " Thrones LCG Community FAQ "

Thanks for all the answers!

I'm very impressed by http://thronesdb.com/ . I believe that's where you'll find me. ^^
