What is an undefined result?

In the Ion Projector modification for large ships it states, "After an enemy ship executes a maneuver that causes it to overlap your ship, roll 1 attack die. On a (hit)

or undefined result, the enemy ship receives 1 ion token."

I have no idea what that means. Any meaningful explanation is appreciated.

Does the printed card really say undefinded result?

The "undefined result" should read as a "(crit)" in this case. An image search for the card shows the boom and kaboom icons.

Thanks. I did not have an image on the card. Was going on what I saw in a squad builder. I don't have the ship yet so I didn't read it off the card.
