EotE build in Force and Destiny

By Petrus81, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I run a Tech: Mechanic that has the Force Emergent tree but no points in it and just basic sense power and have been playing in the EotE campaign mostly. We are now getting the Force and Destiny book and I was wondering if I should embrace the Force or stay true to my mechanical build. Anyone of you guys been in the same seat?

I have a Chiss with 5 agility and 4 intellect so I can shot people without acually having any ranks in any weapon skill. Would be fun to make him more combat oriented with a lightsaber or some more force powers. Im itching to spend my xp on a new spec but I dont know if a force and destiny one will do or if Hired Gun Demo. is the way to go. So many fun builds in this game! Any thoughts guys?

Why did you get into the force in the first place... What do you want out of the game?

If you took the time, effort and XP to become an Emergent, then I'd say go for it. You don't need a very high FR or all Force Powers, and you don't even need to use a lightsaber. If you want to go (satanic) mechanic, you can purchase the Artisan tree and be supergood at it. If you want to shoot people, pick Hunter. Any lightsaber tree is nice if you want to chop things for a change - just pick the one which uses your highest Characteristic (Ataru or Soresu in this case). Or just stay Emergent, this is a potential FR 2 which is quite good. Purchase some powers as you see fit. You could either reinforce your strengths, or fix your weaknesses.

Just that really. Just because your force senstive, doesn't mean you have to become a Jedi. The question is, what do you want out of your character?

Artisian is a incredable tree for the machanically inclined.

Take force powers that are themertically approiate; seek, sense, al those things are used to some degree by even non-jedi.

I would take Ataru or Soresu and then keep going up in emergent to get force rating two. Once you have two you will be able to do a lot. You can do some with a one, bit more flexibility with using force power upgrades once you get to two. And Ataru will make you offensive all the way while Soresu will be a combo of some offense, but much more defense
