Ten Numb the Hunter

By Beatty, in X-Wing

I love Ten Numb!
I used him to come in dead last at my Regionals!
...yeah...he's not that good...way overpriced for what he gives you.

Ten Numb, VI, Mango Cannon, 36pts. How to scare the pants off of Soontir Fel (Or any other Autoceptor)

He'd have to catch him in arc first.

Going after with a Barrel Roll will help

I won a Tournament yesterday with this list:

- Ten Numb: Mangler Cannon, Veteran Instincts, Advanced Sensors // 39 points

- 2x Blue Squadron with Fire Control System // 48 points

- Tala Z-95 // 13 points

What else did you run? I went 3 and 2 in my regional with him. I should have won one of those rounds too. Dice went completely against me in the first round of shooting. I lost Corran to another Corran at range 3. He rolled 3 hits without modifiers twice and I blanked 4 green dice twice...

Actually not hard to do. Unless he keeps Soontir out of the action for a while, you'll have a pretty good idea where he'll end up. All you need is an arc on him. He could be behind a rock at range 3. Won't matter. Ten is really a hard counter to Fel. Which he is a point more expensive then Super Fel, so if you end up trading Fel for Ten, you will still be down a point.

The key to Ten is to build a list where there is no clear priority target. If Ten is clearly the biggest threat than your opponent is going to do everything in his power to get that expensive B-wing off the board. Surround Ten with two other nasty offensive minded ship and it becomes a different story.

Ten+Mangler

Wedge+R5-P9+Predator+SU

Garven

(This list can be set up a few different ways)

Who do you shoot first? I play this list slowly (lots of 1 speed moves) and then speed away when it looks like it's about to become a dog fight. The Mangler likes R3 shots, and Wedge doesn't mind R3 either with his ability. Garven tends to get ignored, but he's rolling three red attack die as well.

I think Stone37 has the best idea. If he's not obviously your main threat, then what do you shoot at first?

Of course, even if he is your main threat, what about everyone's best friend, Biggs?

You could probably do:

Ten w/ Mangler + VI

Biggs

3 x Z-95's

3 pts left over.

You have enough ships to pour damage vs. Fat Turrets (Deci and both YT's) as well as swarms. You throw the crits on the high agile target. That's either Corn Hole, Soontir, or brobot.

I've used Biggs in the past to help keep people like Wedge and Ten alive. I fear the new bombs might make this solution not as effective as it use to be. I am preparing for a new meta of non-formation flying now. Also, I find opponents become very confused when a "formation style" list suddenly no longer behaves that way.

Your list suggest combines the best of a few different worlds though. Biggs, swarms, blockers, and heavy hitter. In the hands of the right pilot, I bet it would give a lot of other lists fits.

It would be great if balanced lists became the new meta.
