Not really sure, as I have thought of him as more of a Jedi and a swordsman really, so my next spec will probably be Niman Disciple. I maaay pick up Starfighter Ace at some point (but not at character creation), and even if I do so, it will probably be later rather than sooner. But honestly, the most probable answer is no.

Since we are talking Characteristics, I am thinking of 3 in Brawn, Agility, Cunning and Willpower. Brawn and Agility for the combat applications mostly, as well as skills such as Athletics and Coordination; he is a Warrior after all. Willpower because, well, Jedi and Force powers and Niman Disciple. Cunning because by having 3 in the above three Characteristics, I cannot afford a 4, plus it governs such skills like Perception.

And one never knows when one might be interested in Ataru Striker or Shien Expert. Sure, we are talking quite a bit in the future, but no harm comes from planning ahead, I guess.

Thanks for clarifying that. Since there are two Niman Disciples in our group (the first one), perhaps I should explain my concept a bit more. I'm not sure what the situation regarding Jedi training is in your campaign, since the Sith seem to have mostly wiped them out, but assuming there's a hidden/underground temple somewhere that still trains Jedi initiates my character learned his Jedi skills there. He was a gifted swordsman but way too proud and full of himself, and way too eager to draw his saber to solve problems. Instead of allowing him to train as a Guardian or Warrior, he was assigned as an apprentice to a Consular (who was a master of the Niman style) to teach him the value of negotiation and diplomacy in addition to developing his swordsmanship. He does his best to resolve conflicts peacefully as he was taught and only draw his blade as a last resort, but...sometimes it's hard to overcome your flaws!

As such, his emotional strength and weakness is, of course, Pride/Arrogance.

In terms of skills, I intend to make him a straight-up Niman Disciple with some facility in the Move force power. Trained skills will likely be Survival (as a Zabrak), Cool, Discipline, Leadership, Lightsaber and Negotiation. I will probably give him a Willpower of 4 to start and get the Niman technique if possible (or as soon as possible) to make him formidable with a lightsaber.

Does this work for your campaign?

Certainly. We can discuss the specifics of where your character received his training in the OOC thread after tomorrow night, but if you are starting with a FaD Career, the assumption is that you have received training of some sort from some source. So there's that, at least

Also, keep in mind that, given the time frame, it is still totally feasible to have a middle-aged (or older) Jedi-in-exile-type PC.

Interesting questions At a big-picture level, the Mandalorians were decimated by Revan during the Mandalorian Wars, and have yet to rally under any strong leader. The popular notion is that Mandalorians can be found all over the galaxy working as guns-for-hire, and still others think that a large portion of them have signed on with the Sith, in true Mandalorian custom, owing to the honor they hold for Revan. And if rumors can be believed, small groups of Mandalorians are counted among those rebelling against the Sith Empire.

But it is never wise to put much stock in hearsay...

Yeah, the main thing I ask is that you remain active. If you're gonna get the books on Tuesday, that's cool. I'm sure the fine folks here would be more than happy to give you a helping hand as well, speed you along with PC creation.

If I may offer a suggestion?

Once sign up has run its course and the PCs are chosen, it might be a good idea to set up the OOC thread (or threads, if you want each campaign to have its own) first. Then, once everyone has reported in, so to speak, and character creation is finished and the characters more or less finalized, you could then create the Dramatis Personae thread (one should suffice) and have the players post their finalized character sheets there and only that so as to avoid clutter. Ideally this way any talk about how to build the character will stay away from the Dramatis Personae thread, leaving it to contain only posts that are effectively editable character sheets and nothing else.

I like the way this universe is shaping up. Is anyone from the original KOTOR games left? What happened to Malak at the Star Forge? If the Republic is still going, do they pretty much just exist as holdouts in a few fortified systems? And will there be a giant text dump describing the lore appearing?

Nobody saying you can't use your unarmed concept. I am always open to suggestion. My brawn is probably gonna be around 3. In fact none of my stats I think will go over that. I'm building a Mandalorian human for the shadows of the future game. Career is Hired Gun but have bought into Sharpshooter and Commando from AoR. The idea being that my character has gone from mercenary work to being a part of one of these rebel cells. Knight level is +9000 credits, correct? And I was considering having Duty and Obligation, but if it's easier I can just pick one.
