Some people perpetually get out on the wrong side of the bed.
Question about lone wolf?
^my job involves dealing with people who don't have the foggiest clue what they're doing, having to do that when not working is entirely too much
I mean, I guess I could /not/ do that, but where's satisfaction
Edited by TipperaryActually the wording is incorrect from a Grammar Perspective AND a Logic perspective, (I’m referring to Boolean Logic, the basis of all computer logic.),That speaks more to a comprehension-level failure of a scale that would preclude playing the game, at which point assistance would be moot.He obviously didnt understand the meaning and wanted clarification! The card answers the question.
There are three basic operations.
AND (Conjunction): Which includes Both circumstances. For example, can be used both in Attack AND Defense. Another example would be, “I would like butter AND jelly on my toast.”
OR (Disjunction): Which includes only one circumstance, For example, use either during your Attack or Defense, but not both. Another example would be, “Would you like Tea OR Coffee.”
NOT (Negation), which flips the circumstance to the other state. (And has not bearing on this conversation.)
The wording on the card is actually incorrect, and should read “When attacking and defending,” to be correct.
Or is correct on the card precisely due to your definitions. You can eat butter jelly bread but you are never attacking and defending at the same time. Some rounds you'll even attack or defend but not both. Or let's it work in those situations where And wouldn't.

Sounds like you should maybe find a new job. Or perhaps find a forum where everybody already knows everything. Or you could just try and take satisfaction in something else that you can be proud of, like being an understanding, thoughtful and respectful, human being.
Or not.
Suffice it to say, Lone Wolf is a top-tier Elite Talent, and is often worth picking above Push the Limit or Predator.

I interpret this as "I hate my job so I am going to act like a ****** and take take out my frustrations on random people that have no ability to retaliate in a meaningful way instead of dealing with the root problem because I really am a coward at heart."
that's your prerogative

For someone berating others on their writing, yours leaves a lot to be desired.
And it'd have been so much easier for you to not have replied in this thread, or to simply have added "It works both when attacking and whenever you are defending".
You chose to be snarky and blame the topic starter for the snarkiness.
It's the "give a man a fish" dilemma. I told him where to look, in the hopes that he would learn. You can tell people all they want but they'll never really know unless they work it out.
Can we be fscking done with this, thanks?
No.
I did read the card, and there is no clarification in the FAQ.
There's no clarification in the FAQ because there's no NEED for clarification in the FAQ. The card literally does what it says on the tin.

That's circular logic he looked at the card but didn't understand it so you tell him to look at the card he does not understand.
Your advice was literally the least helpful advice ever, then to compound that you get all snarky over something that could of been resolved by the second post.
Sorry your job irritates you but don't take it out on the rookies.
devotedknight's been around the forum since 2012, I don't think it's fair to call him a rookie...

He posts A LOT of these threads, too. I'm not convinced that I wasn't baited to hell and back.
Then don't take the bait.
I've had questions about effects from cards that I needed clarification on. Some of which were "apparent" but re-reading the card was no help.
When the language on some cards is compared to the language in the rules, on other cards or in the FAQ, questions can arise. We don't speak "The King's English" in these forums. Just the differences in speech patterns across the United States can drive one nuts. You've never had a problem with the written word? Where you had to parse a sentence to grasp what the writer was trying to get across?
Please try to keep Snarky on a short leash. There are times when it's justified to let it loose. This wasn't one of them.

Mate, grow up. Reading your comments in this thread made me depressed. I thought the community was better than this.
Edited by jimmius^now you can attempt to approximate what I feel
Just remember this - I'm not you. I can't feel what you or anyone else feels, or see the world in that way. I can only respond to to intents as I understand them, but that understanding is based on reflection, not observation, and while I'm aware that it fscks up, there's very little I can do about it. I hadn't even wanted to respond after the last page, but here we bloody are.
The card answers the question.
Trolololololololololololol.

It is. Kind of like an awesome restaurant where you've been going a long time and then they hire a new waiter who's terrible and of no help at all. Doesn't make the food bad or the rest of the restaurant employees bad, just that one waiter is horrible. So just ignore them and ask for a new waiter.

Fun to read threads sometimes when people try and fail with one-up, technical, break out a dictionary or thesaurus posts and proves themselves wrong without knowing it then having that pointed out to them so they stop replying to their own thread.
You can ignore all posts from certain individuals on these forums by doing the following steps:
1) Click/tap on your username at the top of this page
2) Click/tap My Settings
3) On the left side click/tap 'Ignore' Preferences
4) Enter the member's name that you want to Ignore
5) Choose what you want to ignore (I usually pick everything!)
6) Click/tap Save Changes
Ive done this with THREE members here so far and its cleaned up my reading experiences immensely at these forums! If enough of us ignore the same trolls, eventually they wont have an audience and will disappear!!! (I see one of the three has actually been BANNED from the forum!!!)
The details of the card are truly irrelevant in regards to the issue.
If a person knows absolutely everything, has never had to ask a question, or learn something from another, then MABYE it could be considered acceptable to harp on someone for something as simple as asking a question.
How obvious something may be to one, gives no recourse for judgment towards others. It doesn't matter how often they expose themselves to those same triggers that affect their own personal shortcomings in tolerance at their job, where they 'choose' to remain employed.
Someone simply asked a question. It's how we learn. To seek knowledge, no matter how basic it may seem to some, hardly invites ridicule.

My rule of thumb: take Lone Wolf when I can't decide which ship to put it on.

Oh man! Back in the 2nd grade I had a teacher who said something like "I will never tell you to check a dictionary for spelling. If you could spell the word well enough to find it, you wouldn't be asking me."
This was the same teacher who would make people write "A Lot" on two separate blackboards to drive home that they were 2 separate words.
