Question about lone wolf?

By devotedknight, in X-Wing

Can I use it both in Attack and Defense? And how many times during Defense can I use it?

Read the card.

Could some one else please answer the question.

The card answers the question.

Yes, it can be used on both.

You can use it multiple times per turn as long as you meet the range requirements.

When attacking or defending, if there are no friendly ships at Range 1-2, you may reroll one of your blank results.

Any time your ship is attacking or defending! So you could potentially use it during its attack and then once for every time it is being attacked in each turn!

He obviously didnt understand the meaning and wanted clarification!

You can even use it on multiple attacks if you have them, like from gunner or cluster missiles.

Good point! I didnt think of that!

That speaks more to a comprehension-level failure of a scale that would preclude playing the game, at which point assistance would be moot.

Maybe just delete all your posts in this thread?!?

^quick-reply and new-post update are a bit buggy on the old skin, it dupes posts about 50/50 when updating in-thread.

Actually the wording is incorrect from a Grammar Perspective AND a Logic perspective, (I’m referring to Boolean Logic, the basis of all computer logic.),

There are three basic operations.

AND (Conjunction): Which includes Both circumstances. For example, can be used both in Attack AND Defense. Another example would be, “I would like butter AND jelly on my toast.”

OR (Disjunction): Which includes only one circumstance, For example, use either during your Attack or Defense, but not both. Another example would be, “Would you like Tea OR Coffee.”

NOT (Negation), which flips the circumstance to the other state. (And has not bearing on this conversation.)

The wording on the card is actually incorrect, and should read “When attacking and defending,” to be correct.

nice dictionary, shame you couldn't have put that effort into reading the card?

bugger this

e: you're reading on an attempt at logic, not FFG-wording precedent.

Being obnoxious and simply saying "Read the card" is entirely useless, and fairly arrogant.

Not everyone's first language is English, and sometimes the card translations are not perfect. Or perhaps their skill at the English language isn't as good as they'd like it to be. Some folks suffer from dyslexia, or may have other impairments, which can bring a challenge to reading and/or interpreting meanings. Further, sometimes - for whatever reason - the text just doesn't register with the person reading it. We don't know what, if any, reason a poster anywhere may have for asking the question, but being helpful is something that benefits everyone who plays as someone else may feel sheepish for asking a question that others find obvious.

Perhaps, in future, that a moment's pause before a snarky reply of "read the card" may be beneficial.

There’s no need to be obnoxious or social repugnant. And you’re totally wrong, I did read the card, and there is no clarification in the FAQ. And your wrong again, I actually know what correct grammar is.

"There's not need"

"social repugnant"

"your wrong"

"what correct grammar"

please, keep going

I don’t suppose that if I ignore him, that he will go ahead.

that will actually work

To be honest, the way I read the card you only get to use it once a round when either attacking or defending. But, well, since everyone else plays it like you can use it whenever you are away from your mates, that's how I play it.

Once-per-round cards say once per round, no?

I think the issue wording is because you can't be attacking and defending all at once.

Glad someone clarified for the OP, the condescending replies are a poor reflection on the community.

@Tipperary. There is no need to be a jerk about a simple question. New people start playing the game all the time and have questions. Straight forward to you might not be straight forward to someone else. Other games have limits, and people are trying to learn. It is so much easier and better for the game if you help.

but you don't see me when you look in a mirror, do you?
