I've tried three Alpha + Autothrusters with a naked Patrol Leader, and it's a bit limited but not bad. Two Autoceptors, Colzet with AC, and Vader with ATC also make a decent combination.

Ran this for fun the other day to test out Extra Munitions (proxied the tokens with ion tokens on the cards). It was pretty fun and I liked the extra uses of both the missiles and bombs. Soontir did his thing and Backstabber was more useful than he normally is to me. While probably not the best it was fun and put out some good firepower throughout the rounds. Just melted a Firespray with Cluster Missiles, Backstabber and Seismics.
If your good at Manoeuvring.... I run 4 Royal Guard Tie Interceptors with PTL with a lot of success. (Dont expect to have all your ships at the end of the game though....)
If not... Then you could go with 4 Saber Squadrons with PTL and Autothrusters. (You give up 2 pilot skill for more survivability).
Previous Tournament I went with Soontir Fel with PTL and Autothrusters, Patrol Leader with Vader crew and 2 Academies. it went 3-1
It's quite dependent on your skill, I'm sure there are people who could beat me with four Scimitars.
But you can't go far wrong with four PtL Royal Guard Pilots or four Storm Squadron with ATC and TIE mk II.

Bit tricky to get your flying down with the defender and the shuttle but if you're comfortable with these ships then this list hits like a ton of bricks, has reasonable dodgy capabilities, good durability and two fantastic blockers. It's also awesome fun to fly and there's no feeling greater than pounding someone's meta list with a defender and a shuttle after they give you a smug little 'oh you're so going down' smile at the hand shake ![]()
Vader with boost and PTL and 3 tempest squadron pilots. Vader gets ATC, while the others get accuracy corrector..

Which is why you put Lone Wolf on Vader. Making him more survivable and more potent on offence.

Backstabber
Throws one heck of an alpha strike, then pretty survivable if you plan your cloaking/decloaking properly with Intel Agents, alternating so your safer Sigma(s) are decloaked and shooting.

recently ran super vader and the ability to make a Focus and evade every turn once you have a TL is nice however I ran him with predator and found I didn't need or use it much. however I didn't have boost and that would have helped me several times!! PTL is just insurance to help me get out of bad situations..
Been lurking a lot lately and based on all the TLT/Autothrusters/Bombs talk I really want to try:

Lots of Evades and Barrel Rolls with the Tempests, and they can block for the BH to provide the heavy hits against High-AGI targets. Fly the Tempests in a block on one side of the board and have the Bounty Hunter either in the middle or the opposite side depending on your opponent (further away for arc dodgers, closer for YTs/Y-Wings etc etc).
The one point of initiative bid is really just for beating out other PS2 pilots so you can block generics, but might get swapped for the XX S-Thread Tracers on the Firespray once Wave VIII comes out.

Switch Munitions Failsafe on Rhymer for the new MKII title, which will really help with the PTL. If you have a TL and Focus with APL, you're not going to miss.
