Just toying around with lists with my new goodies from the Raider and was wondering if anyone has tried this combo out, or has a list they like with them.

Lambda Shuttle: Colonel Jendon with at least the ST-321 title

TIE Advanced: Lieutenant Colzet with TIE/X1 title and FCS

The ability to get a TL from any enemy ship on the board and then transfer it to Colzet who can then use his ability to flip the damage card up. The only part to add is a ship to hunt down other ships and put some damage cards on them. Whisper, Soontir or maybe a loaded up Vader. Could this work?

In Epic, maybe.

It is a lot of points spent just to use a very situational ability.

You're probably better off just using FCS on Colzet and have him fire last + take an evade/focus.

I don't think its 'too many' points, but Jendon w/ ST-321 costs the same as Omncron w/ Palpatine (which is just more useful overall).

Vader would be a good choice, although twin laser turrets wreck him (palpatine helps a bit there).

The ability to have any nearby Tie Advanced receive a target lock on any ship on the battlefield is outstanding.

Especially low pilot skill Tie Advanceds that might not have been in range for the target lock since they moved before the higher PS enemy got within range 3. And for 2 ships to be able to contribute to a fight on the opposite side of the play area on a turn where they might not have had any targets to shoot at is great too. All it takes for this "situational" benefit is for Jendon to be close enough to an ally to hand off a lock.

Jendon targets 2 enemy ships with target lock. Then if he is near Colzet, he hands Colzet the target lock on whichever enemy he is pointing at, or if Colzet is not pointed at anything, he could give him a target from across the map.

A fully loaded buzzsaw Jendon should be making Quik Wok of most foes as well. I love 43 point shuttles, just watch out for swarms.

I agree with this, but I think I could keep the Advance close. I just wonder if there could be enough times to use this combo to make it worth it. I almost think I would have to keep the Shuttle and Advanced back together and then have another ship or ships that go out to put damage on enemies. Not sure if splitting them up is worth it.

Actually toyed around with making a list that is Jendon (with Palpatine) + Colzet + Strom. Going to stay in close with Jendon often anyways, might as well bring the guy who will punish the enemy for trying to get on top of your squad.

Still, it's a hefty chunk of points for a combo that I'm thinking is more amusing than actually effective. Still, could be good times screwing with someone trying to flee, now dealing with getting re-blinded and having minor explosions constantly springing up.

But that opening exchange can be huge with Bombers. You want as much of your Alpha strike off as possible before Bombers start to die. Folks are less likely to try and joust you when you're throwing a bunch of Jonus+Focus buffed dice at them. It's also useful when it's time for the Bombers to begin hunting down a new target.

And honestly, Scimitar has sad PS and Jendon is only middling. Without the title, it's very, very likely against some ships that you'll miss opportunities to blast em' while you struggle to get a TL and line up the shot.

That's not the case with this list though. Jendon is going to be feeding Colzet a Target Lock to modify his attack and FCS is going to be giving Colzet a lock to use for his ability. There's not a lot of alpha striking going on here.

I see this combo being better after the first exchange. The ability to get a TL at any range and then Colzet can use his ability at any range also makes it a threat from anywhere on the board.

The problem with this combo is that it lacks simplicity. Going through the various hoops just to have these ships in play to flip up damage cards...it would be easier to just build a list around getting crits through. It seems effective on paper, but flipping cards face up is not going to be as powerful as just having an efficient list in place of it. The other problem is that if you get your TLs early you will want to spend them the first round of combat for modification, so likes have already said, you will need to acquire locks and share them again...but if Colzet has FCS, when why is Jendon there? Just to give you the free will of TLing any target you want...now you need to be within range one to share that TL with Colzet who can then turn damage up.

Maybe I am missing something, but the whole thing seems like a house of cards in a 100 point game.

In epic, however, this combo could work well because you'd have enough forces to pour on damage if you had enough points. It would go well with HLCs especially, however you want to spread them out in your epic list via shuttles/firesprays/defenders. I wouldn't make it your only combo though... Once Wave 7 hits, it's going to go well with the munitions that melt shields...
