With the rebellion making gains after the destruction of the Death Star at Yavin, a new type of ship was commissioned for the Empire. A match for the small corvettes favored by the rebels, faster and more maneuverable. Baron Soontir Fel quickly developed the Fight and Fade Group (FFG) tactic for this new ship, the Raider. Acting as a Command and Control platform with hyperdrive equipped TIE series fighters, FFG groups would make rapid jumps into minor systems controlled by the rebels. The group would strike fast and hard, damaging and destroying any unprepared rebel ships, fighters, and facilities...then jump out of system before an effective defense could be mounted. With the introduction of the Phantom class TIE, these cloaked ships could scout systems allowing FFG units to be customized to inflict maximum damage to key targets. Intelligence estimates that due to the losses inflicted by FFG units on the smaller rebel ships and fighters, the rebels will soon be forced to compile a single large fleet in an all or nothing strike while they still have enough ships to be effective. With this in mind, a trap will be set at the planet Endor to lure the remnants of the rebellion to their final destruction.
