Gunner on a Phantom? They don't exactly miss much. You'd be better off with a defensive upgrade like Rebel Captive.

They do when you go for Buzzsaw.

i.e. take Evade, fire at a high agility target, often miss, then get TL, fire again, with TL -> hit -> get Focus for defense.

I like gunner tho, its going to hit hard like Keffisch says and you want the Phantom to deal damage every time it fires. Intel Agent tho helps with the change in decloaking then you can fit two AP in

I flew this exact list at gencon (US nationals) and went 3 - 3. My losses were to decivader + Fel, dash + corran and dual aggressors. The aggressors should not have won---I totally screwed up that game (it was late and didn't matter by that point) by landing whisper on a rock in arc of an HLC and later landing dark curse on a rock in arc of an HLC. Dash/corran was beatable (I beat a different dash corran as one of my wins), but a decivader is unbeatable. Vader is an absolute hard counter to this list.

My biggest regret was stealth on Fel. I would've rather put it on Dark Curse and put Target comp on Fel.

I also feel the meta shift is really punishing phantoms right now. Hopefully you don't meet any twin lasers because 2 or 3 will destroy a phantom quick unless you can focus one down first.

I'd go with Stealth on Dark Curse as well. Or you can always got Mauler with VI. That gives you all pilots at PS 9. Mauler will also take heat of Soontir and Whisper.

I've played navigator dash in 3 tourneys and against this build (the doom shuttle version) so I'm not too worried about the 2400s, Corran a bit though... Decifel is going to take some doing though. Hopefully no TLTs yet. I feel like this is a good mix vs most advanced lists.

If you do meet a decivader, your only chance at victory is to destroy the decimator ASAP. You have to accept that you will be losing one of your aces before it dies (hopefully not both because Dark Curse can't beat their Soontir in the end). I think sacrificing Soontir is probably the best way to go simply because your opponent probably can't resist vadering him. Don't let his sacrifice be in vain though----make sure all of your ships get shots on the decimator. Because of rebel captive, Soontir should shoot first (So don't push the limit or you will be double stressed). With any luck, Fel and Whisper can knock off shields and get the decimator into hull. Then his decimator will shoot at Fel (Vader for a crit, losing 2 more hull, or with gunner, deal 2 crits and lose 4 hull). If Fel is dead after one round of shooting, you probably can't win, but if he can eat the rebel captive for a second turn, Whisper and Dark Curse should be able to finish off the decimator. At that point, your chances are not terrible, especially if Curse can block Fel to allow Whisper a kill shot.

Mauler makes for a good choice to shoot Rebel Captives with. Fel still gets to PTL and Whisper doesn't need to worry about ACD getting blocked. If Mauler makes it through two rounds of shooting Rebel Captive first, he was worth his points.
