Huge ships - Overlaps

By Resolver, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi all

Played an epic yesterday where my Raider overlapped a Corvette.

I was not sure, how the face-up damage is handled.

Since it's extremly likely that when the Raider (which had the initiative) overlapped the Corvette, it will return the favour in the next turn.

It is clear that the first overlap returns a face-up damage, but when it's the Corvettes turn would that count as an overlap as well (even if the ship did not move at all).

It's bloody when 2 huge ships collide will produce 2 face-up damages.

Another thing which is not clear, if the front end of an epic ship is destroyed it can't take any more damage, so can it be used to deliver face up damage cards to other epic ships without any penalty when overlapping ?

Regards

Andri

Id wonder how that last question works as well

I believe I've read that if you crashed two of those big epic ships into each other head-on they are extremely likely cripple both front sections and be stuck like that until/unless someone can finally finish off the ship by destroying the back half as well.

what I meant was ;

Raiders overlaps the Corvette - resulting in a face up damage card.

On the Corvette turn, it overlaps the Raider (but doesn't move) - resulting in a face up damage card.

Is this correct, since one crash with 2 huge ships will likely cause 2 face up damage cards in the same round.

The other thing, is that can you use the front end of the epic ships as a juggernaut - dealing face up damage cards without any other side effect ?

One ship runs into another and causes damage.

Game State Resets.

One ship runs into another and causes damage.

It is certainly possible for ships to continually overlap each other turn after turn without actually appearing to move. In the case of epic ships that state just happens to be VERY painful.

This happened in a game I played, and yeah, you basically are stuck dealing crits to each other till one of you moves away or both sections that are colliding are wrecked.

My Raider got stuck hitting the wrecked rear section of a CR-90, meaning I was taking crits and he wasn't.
