Modification.

Add [EPT] icon to your upgrade bar if you do not already have [EPT] on your upgrade bar.

We've had far, far too many ship pilots that looked great on paper, yet fell flat once released.

Many of them were for wont of an EPT. While 'for free' might be a bit much for FFG to stomach in such a broad upgrade, the question remains: Are there any pilots that could become broken if you can field an EPT on them when you previously couldn't?

Some possibilites:

Torkil Mux w/ Predator (Make anything PS0, reroll two dice!)

K-wings & Punishers (Never built for EPTs in the first place)

Anything else, you can come up with, folks!

When designing, one must not look only to where something can help (Hiya, Garven!), but also whether it can break. This is that thread. Whatcha got?

Certain power combos have already ruined the game, I don't see why a HWK getting double Predator would be anywhere close to breaking the game as hard as the above combos.

I feel like Backstabber with out maneuver would be hilarious.

Actually, Captain Kagi with Expert Handling would be really irritating. Everything at PS1-7, and possibly ships at PS8, has to lock on to you--and now you can shed a lock every round. His cost might still justify it, and it's not quite up to Biggs-level trolling, but it would be frustrating to play against.

I could see this allowing more frequent use of Tie Interceptors Kir Kanos, Fel's Wrath, and Lt Lorrir.

Awings Arvel Crynd and Gemmer Sojan would change dramatically.

HWK Rebel Roark Garnet and Scum Torkil Mux would be interesting as well.

Evil Morals with Predator for rerolling 180-degree HLC hilarity.

How would Dark curse with Elusiveness work? because that's literally breaking the game.

LT. Lorrir would love Outmaneuver, VI, or Predator. Kir Kanos with PTL would arguably be a Teir 1 pilot. Fel's Wrath would still be f***ing awful.

Arvel and Gemmer already have access to an EPT. I don't see how a 2nd one would really help more than ATs, or a Stealth Device.

I don't see why everyone PS 5 and above doesn't have one. Really. There have been a number of mid PS pilots without epts that would see competitive play with an EPT: Kir, Gemmer, maybe Lorrir, Laetin... The power of PTL and Predator should be the ceiling for a cheap EPT. If you're charging a point and a mod slot for it (wouldn't really help those listed pilots) that's a heavy cost.

Would an "auto damage" sniper Kir really break the game? Laetin with focus and evade be too tough to crack? Lorrir rerolling a dice or 2 higher PS? VI krassis? I think the game would survive.

EDIT: Thought the card said "even if you don't have an EPT" so I thought it wS just adding to all unique pilots. Seems I read that wrong. But I'll leave my post anyway.

Now, you're not gonna Daredevil and Push the Limit in the same round, but it gives you options.

if it allowed for simply an extra, and was still a modification and not limited. You could have a 3 ept Fel. Outmaneuver, Lone Wolf, Opportunist.

The point of the thread was to try and break things that otherwise aren't broken, not complain about perfectly fine ships.

I'd be more interested in adding an EPT to generic pilots of PS3+, even if it did cost a point.

Add Experimental Interface and you can PTL and Daredevil in one round. This is actually how I flew him in the championships this year (Without the illegal 3rd EPT obviously). I won a championship with it, but it's terrifying to fly. I never new where he would end up.

honestly, All I can think about is SoT + int agent shuttles (and then cry because they don't exist )
