First Rebel list: Ramming Speed!

By hammerghast, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

This is (abusing) exactly what it sounds like.

Corvette B: 39

Corvette B: 39

  • Dodonna's pride: 6

Nebulon B Support: 51

  • Dodonna 20

Nebulon B Support: 51

  • Salvation 7
  • XI7 Turbolasers 6

Squadrons

Luke 20

2x A's 22

3x Y's 30

Total: 291

Scenarios decided:

Precision Strike

Fire Lanes

Dangerous Territory

The rough idea is that everything Navs up early (tokens then a following order just for speed insurance) and focuses down the biggest threat's DT's and shields, at which point Dodonna's pride forms the 2 of this collective 1-2 punch*. I'm debating between flying all the squadrons up a side and slinging the A's at anything that moves even slightly toward the titanic bomber wing, or splitting them into two groups (1-2 Y's and A's, Luke with the last Y('s)) to better exploit Luke's Escort and the A's long range interception capabilities.

My collection is somewhat limited to these ships, and they're core set Nebs and Vettes so I dont have the upgrades the respective expansion packs do, I also have one fighter pack and 2 core sets of X-wings (10 or so altogether) though its for a casual game so I can print proxy printed cards without issue, and may have access to a third Nebulon which I'm not seeing much use for right now. That all considered, I've won a whopping one demo match in my entire 6ish game Armada career and welcome all feasible feedback to make this list as non-sexually dirty as possible, as I've seen way too few Gladiators snap in half. Please feel free to talk tactics too as I only have the rough idea above of how I'm gonna play this.

Thanks in advance!

Dodonna's ability is fleet wide.

I don't have much experience running this style of fleet, my experience entirely lies with Assault Frigates as I'm not a fan of the squishy rebel ships. Having said that I think there are some simple changes that you can make to improve the list-
-If you drop the Nebulons to Escort frigates that gives you most of the points for one of them to take the Salvation title and XI-7 turbo lasers(using proxies), dramatically increasing damage output and nerfing the pesky redirect. The less offensive rigged Nebulon can then be Dodonna's flagship.
-Dodonna's pride and Corvette A makes no sense, the ships only going to be rolling 1 Blue dice on a regular attack so you've got low odds of rolling a crit and taking advantage of that sweet crit effect. So if you want the pride go with the Cheaper Corvette B and roll all the blue dice.

Your thoughts on your fighter wing are spot on, I'd say do both! Adjust your deployment of the fighters based on what your opponent is bringing to the table in squadron game so clump to wipe big ship heavy list or separate into groups to lock down squadron heavy enemies.

This style of list is going to struggle winning in a straight up fight. Its going to win by being second player and forcing the opponent to pick from a list of unfavourable objectives so I'd recommend dropping one of the Y-Wings to work a 10 point initiative bid into the list. So play to your superior speed and numbers with objectives like Fire Lanes and Dangerous Territory.

Thanks for the reply Dave, applied basically all changes whilst sticking with precision Strike, adding your suggested Fire Lanes and Dangerous Territory. I think I'm in half decent shape, big game's tomorrow haha.

Best of luck for tomorrow then!
