Scum ship: Kom'rk Class (Mandalorialn ship)

As an epic ship i would much prefer the Braha Tok (Dornean) Gunship... Kinda ugly but cool...
Anti-fighter gunship and it is actually a part of the original trilogy (seen in ROTJ at Endor)..
Heres a dude who has made a very nice model:
Moe here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=120106&page=3
That I'd like too
It's also small enough (90 meters) that it could be made at 1/270 scale. I think if it was built in relative scale I'd not get it.
You know, people who say the XG-1 is ugly are totally missing the point. It's a flying Tank.
Who here thinks the MI24D Hind is pretty? The Apace Longbow?
Well, ok, I do but Come on, that's the gunboat. It's functional, utilitarian. It's a flying tank with buttloads of firepower.
It's the same reason I have such a gunship boner for the DX-9. Hell I GM'ed a star wars D20 campaign and within the first 15 minutes I had a DX-9 in a spin pretending to be a hind with it's tail rotor shot off (with the player party of stormtroopers inside, of course).
Star Wars ships are NOT Pretty. The Y-wing, my absolute favourite rebel craft is butt ugly, and looks functional. The B-wing is probably even worse. Don't even get me started on the HWK (obviously - I like this ship, and not just because recent updates and releases have made it into a beast). And the YT 1300 and 2400 freighters? ONLY THEIR MAMA AND PAPA's WOULD EVER CALL THEM PRETTY.
So to all those people saying "oh why do you want the XG-1, it's butt ugly" You've not only answered your own question, but you've confirmed that it fits with Star Wars perfectly!

It's GLORIOUS.
But, yes. The vast majority of OT Star Wars ships had that utilitarian, junker's-yard, lived in and functional feel to them. It gave them character, it gave them purpose, and it made them iconic.
It also helped that they were based on real models, not CGI rubbish.
Yes... yes it is. (Glorious that is). For comparison, here is what I also think is an Aesthetically pleasing craft. Also one used for many mockup space ships, once it's main rotor is removed.

That thing is fugly, battle scarred and I want one. It reminds me a little of a mini Loronar Strike Cruiser.
Edited by DariusAPBThat's the Mist Hunter, not the Gunboat! ![]()
Yeah i had to correct my post, I was referring to it being glorious. Does look like the base for the mist hunter though (probably was) was also a medical shuttle in Firefly.
personally I think of the Gunboat as vaguely RA5C-like.
(Hinds are pretty and nobody will ever prove otherwise)

Wait, isn't this just s Scyk facing the other way? Sure looks like it.

They're both of Mandalorian make. This ship is actually the reason it took me so long to figure out which way the Scyk was pointing lol.
This is also much larger. Fits more than one person. And the wings rotate around the cockpit and are up for landing.

Yeah, some people have bad taste and their opinions belong nowhere except for the trash bin.

Pretty much. And given that it's the same manufacturer, that's perfectly appropriate.

It's a very good looking ship, but too rare to be relevant. Also, the aesthetics are kind of "too pretty" and sleek for Star Wars. That said, I have no problem of this being release (as long as we get the Assault Gunboat, TIE Avenger and TIE Hunter FIRST).
Edited by OdananI just want a Cloud Car!!!! I don't care it is atmospheric! To answer the OP:
Cloud Car with Lando and his buddy as crew.
Secondly, once again, a CorSec green X-wing with Corran Horn and Whistler and Wes Janson.
Then we don't need the useless transport or the ugly E-wing.

Since both give me a huge nerd boner...I think not.

Major difference there, Darius.
A Hind is a good design. A Gunboat's just a shuttle some lazy bastard lazily stuck extra wings on before blinding/bribing/coercing his art director to let it slide.

The gunboat appreciation society would disagree with you. (at over 40 pages, acknowledge that there is one).

Except the entire TIE series of fighters.
And I guess the SR-71.
And the iPhone,
And I suppose every company ever.

So, in other words not really all that different conceptually than every single TIE variant that's come out since Return of the Jedi? Should fit in perfectly, then!
Incidentally, the designers in question were employed by LucasArts.
