I was just about to fix my Decimator with some magnets on its post, but the preexisting one is broken. So how do I remove the plastic peg from the base of ships.

I was going to try wire cutters but I was worried they would leave something behind. I have seen lots of people have them removed but I do not know how it is done.

Heat some wire till it's red hot and push it into the broken peg, let it cool then pull it out.

Not done this myself but others have and swear it works.
