I was actually at Disneyland yesterday and kept thinking: "this place will be intense on 4 September."

I don't know that (for instance) the Lego store at Downtown Disneyland will be open at midnight. But I guarantee they will have stuff the very instant they open on the 4th.

And that's not to mention the actual Star Wars store they have right outside the Star Tours ride.

I do _not_ envy the people who have to work there those days...

I think the real question is if the other two missing SKUs will also be available on Sept. 4th. I feel pretty sure we can find one SKU, but honestly, I want the other two SKUs.

Hopefully Amazon will have anything new (assuming there is something) and, unless these are some kind of crazy limited edition, one-night-only, I can't believe I won't be able to get one sometime soon after release online. And looking forward to seeing those T-70 models.up close...

Interesting Toys'R'Us have the core set on the website now. Over here in the UK I've found there are only a couple of Toys'R'Us stores and Forbidden Planet stores taking part in Force Friday. I'm expecting/hoping my local FP and/or Toys'R'Us will have stock even though they are not doing the midnight opening. Speaking to the manager of my FLGS; he says he knows nothing about the TFA stuff and the SKU's are still listed as "unconfirmed" with the distributor. I'm sure these will be available in your FLGS, just maybe a week or so after Disney's big TFA toy push starts...

Well the hints i had regarding a LGS having something secret in the $40 range available on Sept 4 just turned into flat denial, claiming a misunderstanding or miscommunication. And admittedly I was reading a lot into the vague hint I had.

So either some nasty grams got sent out to stores telling them to shut up, or the LGS community may get left out of the Day 1 sales boom.

There is no way the actual LGS could get stuff for a secret release and keep it secret. LGS's are too casually run for all of them to be able to keep a secret. Someone would open stuff up and leak it.

I'm pretty well convinced that the distributors have the stuff and that they will tell the LGS owners about it and allow them to order it on the 3rd or 4th, so the LGSs should get the stuff before the 10th.

I'm just worried that the hype surrounding the whole release will result in a run on the product and it will sell out before a decent supply can be sent to the LGSs. I WANT to buy from my FLGS and am willing to wait a week in order to do so, but if it is going to sell out by 10PM on the 4th and the local stores can't get any, FFG could take 6 months to get more in stock, and I don't want to wait that long.

I feel like dropping a small announcement on 3 September would be fair- just so fans of X-Wing would know to get in line at Target.

I'm not saying it will happen- Disney may have written the contract to preclude that- but it would be fair.
