Yes. September 4th is when all of the new Star Wars information/products can be disseminated.

I also find the notion that the leak came from a Target employee as curious. Target hasn't had any X-Wing products since the core/starter sets from the wave 1 days. I never figured they would carry X-Wing in the future but this would almost make sense given the enormity of the Star Wars releases and the fact that Target has been carrying a lot of highly popular boardgames over the past year or so.

What is annoying though is that the part of the world that is in the future has to wait for America-time for all the goodies. Everyone talks about FFG's Monday News announcements ... sadly, I have to get excited for Tuesday.

So, has the Mouse said we can't play with our new toys until Sept 4 OR have they said we can't play with our new toys until Sept 4 EDT? It's a 14 hour difference for me.

An exception: The midnight release of new Movies, then we have seen it at least twice before it gets released in US.

Also Disney has decided to be hush hush about episode 7 stuff until Sept. 4th, so yes, those things will be released on that date.

The tea leaves I have been able to read suggest that the potential for leakage will grow exponentially next week. Unless I've read my tea leaves wrong again. The last time I had tea leaves to read, I was sure the Gencon announcement would give us Snowspeeders.

I'm amazed at the amount of people who are way overthinking the set and it being at Target.

1) There's a new Star Wars movie coming out and one featuring characters who haven't been on screen since 1983. Why not introduce a base set using the new ships from the new movie to bring in new players? That's all it is people. A new introduced based on the hype.

2) Of course you'll see it in big box stores on "Force Friday". Target has been pushing into the more hobby gaming market with things like Ticket To Ride and even the HBO version of the Game of Thrones LCG. What better place to grab new players that are just itching to spend money on Star Wars products when they're waiting in line in the middle of the night to commerce? Especially when the quality is a lot better than what Hasbro is putting out.

I also checked target when I first began playing as I half expected them to carry X-Wing. They have an entire aisle in many stores devoted to Star Wars toys, and yes they also have a board game-type section. Disney probably is adjusting their marketing and sales to make it more widely available commercially. Sucks for the FLGS's a bit, but Disney knows how to profit.

It begs the question, why was the supposed leak from a Target store, showing the box shrink wrapped? Those core sets are ready now I think and their production would explain the delays with things like the Raider.

So the real question is where can we get these core sets on sept 4? Will it be only 'big box' retailers like Target, Walmart etc? Will LGS get them too, or later?

This is the second time I have heard this. Where is this coming from? I don't want to bother with a midnight release if I can't be sure I am in a store that will have what I want.

Just saying that he didn't specify any one line of products. It's likely X-Wing will be a part of the September 4th stuff but he didn't go and say "We have X-Wing stuff on the way". I'm interested to see if there are any other FFG products coming out or being announced on that date.
