Sentients races that i want to see

By marcemtp, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I have heard the no Prequel comment a number of times. I really hate to see half of the current Star Wars universe excluded. Regardless of what people think of the 3 movies or the Clone Wars TV shows there were some really cool designs, characters, and battles.

That said, to do it right you would really need a new (compatible) starter set. I would love to see a set based on a Clone commando team with Jedi leaders. Something like an Arc Trooper, Heavy weapons clone, Jedi commander, clone captain, etc.

Thanks,

Duncan

That, AND there are some, myself included, who enjoy the prequel trilogy. If they release expansions from the prequels that someone doesn't like, THEY don't need to buy it. I expect that a lot of people will realize just how 'Star Wars' the prequels are, once they are confronted by a new director with a different style of shooting/editing that reads more as pop-sci-fi.

Edit: IF they can see anything past the fake lens flares!

I would like to see a Rakghoul (do those still exist Galactic Empire era?)

Gammorean Guard

Greedo

Bossk (Rest of the main Bounty Hunters)

Ewoks are inevitable (and I will slaugther them all in the name of the Empire)

Perhaps a Weequay?

Not exactly sentient, but i would also like a droid squad with IG-86's and HK-24's

Oh

And

Gary the stormtrooper

Kel'Dor Jedi would be nice :)

Kel'Dor Jedi would be nice :)

I think more Jedi's would be nice in general, yes yes they were all killed in the purge but still would be nice to see say a Female Zabrek duel wielding a lightsaber, or a Kel'Dor with a double bladed lightsaber.

Another model that would be cool would maybe be Cerean like Ki-Adi-Mundi but with a vibrosword instead of a saber.

Of course a sullustan hero would be awesome, Gamorreans guards are almost sure bet at this point.

Togorian rebel or mercenary

Yuzzem melee rebel

Marauder from Endor mercenary to hunt ewoks

I agree with you that it's ridiculous to say we won't see prequel designs in FFG Star Wars games. However, I don't think we are going to see Prequel games, rather we will see characters set in between Episodes 3-4. I think this game could lend itself very easily to a return of the CIS story or having a rogue Clone commando or ARC trooper hero. If there are any Armada players here, I feel the same way about Armada. The Munificent, Providence, Recuscent, Acclamator, and Venator were still in use during the Galactic Civil War and afterwards. So while I don't expect Prequel games I expect the Rebels and Empire using Prequel designs.

Death Star / Imp. Navy Troopers:

Seconded Vadersson, tomcat364, and Jerbiwan. For me, the game can only become more interesting and diverse the more canon is explored.

It also seems likely we'll see some more jedi/force-sensitives in the future (even in IA's civil war timeline). Even if there aren't any more jedi rebel heroes, there are at least a few more force-sensitive Rebel allies (and skirmish combatants) if IA borrows from Rebels like X-wing has done.

I am fine with prequel aliens and even locations being added to IA. The EU has interesting content that I want to see also. The Star Wars universe is my all time favorite ever since seeing Star Wars on my 7th birthday in 1977. FFG has done an excellent job with all their Star Wars releases. Keep up the good work FFG. Please bring campaign and skirmish content to us from the Movies (prequel and original) as well as the EU. The Sentient races that are present in the cantina scene in Episode 4 would be a great addition to mercenaries. Even the cantina scene in Episode 2 had aliens that would also be great additions. Clone wars also has aliens in would like to see.

Maybe a clawdite for the mercenaries as their sniper troop. Ability to remove accuracy from the attackers role to reflect the shape-changing ability.

Jawas, the various aliens from the Mos Eisley Cantina, plus Gand bounty hunters.

Gran squad with melee attacks and thermal detonators.

Well, to all people concerned with not having any episode 1-3 characters: this is called Imperial Assault and thus is placed in the Rebel era that we know from the original 3 movies. It would be ridiculous to have Qui-Gon Jinn and the like fight Darth Vader as they did in WOTC's SWM. It also wouldn't really mix with the campaign fluff of the game.

What they obviously DO acknowledge though are the races from Episode 1-3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I only saw a nexu in episode 2. With this being said there shouldn't be anything speaking against gungans and the like, even though they ain't everyone's favourites. Before the prequels people were complaining just as much about the ewoks which have left the focus of criticism since Jar Jar. One could say that Jar Jar was their personal saviour. ;)

Now back on topic. What I would especially like to see:

hutts (a simple Jabba would suffice)

grans

jawas

rodians

gamorreans (heck yeah!)

Mon Calamary fish heads :P

more twi'leks, not just one unique jedi version

weequays

Despite that I love to see any aliens that would add to the diversity of the game. After all one of SW's main strengths is its great variety of races.

Oh, and don't forget the not quite so sentient rancor! :D

I'd much like some imperial droids, esp.for the skirmish game, assuming nobody here objects to droids being described as 'sentient' (if so, you'd better hope IG-88 isn't reading this).

In terms of terminal-shenanigans and other droid-related stuff, I don't see why the rebel terrorist scum should have all the fun, with their new C-3PO/R2-D2 combo.

Heck! How could I forget mouse droids? :o Everyone loves mouse droids. That's a fact. Well, everyone, 'xcept Chewie...

Drop Bears Ewok?

Gran squad with melee attacks and thermal detonators.

Why melee gran? Seems like an odd choice.

The old WotC range included lots of alien melee specialists, incl. a nice 'Gran raider':

Imagine rocking up to an imperial comand bunker with a space marachi band. :D

Wow I'm a hypocrit. I forgot I had posted this when I posted my idea for Separatist Assault on another topic. :(

So did the original trilogy when not viewed through the lens of nostalgia...

You mean Ewoks? I can't think of anything else that wasn't awesome in the originals. Well, maybe the weird double cockpit speeder thing from Cloud City, what was that about?

Another point, all opinions aside, stuff that is canon cannot just be ignored. Clone wars is canon.

Well, FFG can ignore it if they want to. Not saying they will (they haven't ignored prequel stuff in the RPGs) but they could.

Oh, there was lots that was less than stellar. Mynocks looked ridiculous, most of the acting in Return of the Jedi is pretty poor, and if you've ever tried watching it without John Williams soundtrack.... well don't try that. My point is that the original trilogy was a light-hearted good story with great music, top of the line effects with WONDERFUL concept designs, and one or two great actors that carried the rest. IMO, the prequel triology is a good story with good music, good effects with WONDERFUL concept designs, and one or two great actors who almost carry the rest. The writing was never exceptional.
