Rebel Transport - Perform Actions Step

By Logus Vile, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Now that the Raider is out, it's time for some epic games! Woohoo!

I'm taking my Rebel Transport tonight to play a team epic dogfight. So I had to actually learn the rules to huge ship play and in the Rebel Transport rule book they totally gloss over the perform actions step. They describe the actions available then move on to Combat. So how many actions does the Rebel Transport get?

In this article: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2014/1/31/get-to-your-transport/ at one point it states:

"You could use the GR-75’s jam action to force stress tokens onto enemy starfighters before using Slicer Tools to deal them damage."

Now, Slicer tools also has the "Action" header so that would require 2 actions.

Then I downloaded the new Huge Ship rule book and there it says:

"Performing Actions from a Ship with Two Ship Cards
During the “Perform Action” step, ships with two sections may perform two actions. The first action must be an action in the fore section’s action bar or an action from one of the fore section’s Upgrade cards or Damage cards. The second action must be an action in the aft section’s action bar or an action from one of the aft section’s Upgrade cards or Damage cards."
First of all, the rebel transport doesn't have "two ship cards" so right there I don't know if this applies to it. Then, although it has two sections it doesn't have a "fore" section action bar, only "aft" section. But it does say upgrade cards in the fore section... So, are there rules for adding upgrade cards to each section of the Rebel Transport? Or can I just say, Splicer Tools are in the fore section therefore I actually do get to use splicer tools as well as a "aft" section upgrade bar one? However, if I don't use splicer tools I can only do one action from the upgrade bar.
What am I missing here?

The Jam action assigns stress tokens to the target ship until it has 2 tokens, so on the following turn it will typically still be a valid target for Slicer Tools.

The Transport gets one action in each game round.

I'd say you answered your own question there :)

Since the transport doesn't have two ship cards, rules for ships with two ship cards doesn't apply to it.

It was the splicer tools example from the article that was throwing me off, because it doesn't clearly say something like "then next round you can deal them damage" and also it is in the middle of a couple other examples of multiple things you can do with in one go.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
