I hope they are not going down the road of introducing a new force power in each and every book they release for this line. So far it is a new power in both the first class book and the first adventure. If this is true, that will end up being a heck of a lot of force powers by the end of the product line.
Chronicles of the Gatekeeper article
i think it will be a force power in each class book. i do not predict one in the others,
I read somewhere that - in general - adventures were the worst selling things in an RPG line, as only the GM needs it and generally you only use it once. (Pathfinder's Adventure Paths seem to be the biggest sellers though, so go figure!)
It could be that FFG are including races, Force powers etc in their adventures as players always want 'more crunch' and this might be a reason to buy it.
After all, old D&D adventures regularly had new magic items and spells and the like, so why not new gear, new species and Force powers? <shrug>

Though to be honest, the Pathfinder books tend to also have information on the area they are in. It offers GMs who don't want to do the APs, or do the Pathfinder Society, a way to get more information out there.
Plus, it also helps if a person knows a bit more about an area.
To me, I actually look forward to the new books, since usually FFG does a good job with the module. The only one I had an issue with was "Onslaught", but that's due to a misleading title and the fact that it relied on non-tactical thinking.
Then again, that could just be me. Spending time in the Infantry and communications has a tendency to destroy a lot of my appreciation for military themed entertainment.
Yeah I concur - I think having setting details, and some player options and other bits and pieces as well as the adventure makes it a more attractive purchase - for me anyway.
Rather than a full-blown Force power tree, The Force power could just be a macguffin or a something like a 25XP ability similar to a talent but not part of a specialization tree. It's simply too soon to start crying power bloat.
It could also be one of cornerstone powers, being able to buy it at 30 XP.
Could be something like a "Shatterpoint"-like force power
Hopefully the adventure will be more than just "unlock the holocron" because the whole "get your saber/holocron" adventures do seem to be getting a little tired already...
Does anyone feel like "Arbooine" is a little... on the nose? Luke's home planet wasn't "Sandooine"...
Probably found by some explorer from Dantooine who was rather unimaginative when the survey form asked for "New Planet Name".
Probably the same guy who found Mantooine, too.
Was the explorer named Dan?
Am suddenly tempted to have my next campaign be about following a map left by the famed explorer and body art expert Dan "the Man" Tooine...
I think his name was actually Ven Dan "the Man" Tooine who also discovered Ventooine !

Am I getting old? Did I have a stroke? didn't someone already say this on this page? I can't find the original quote, but it led to this just a few posts above:
Shatterpoint's pretty much the Pierce and Auto-Triumph section of Seek. Though if they did give it its own power, I'd imagine we'd get one in the Warrior book.
I did not know that. I'll have to check it out when I get home tonight.
Basically what Lathrop said: The "Shatterpoint" power is pretty much already there in the Seek mastery upgrade.

I would generally agree with the above concern because having more character options spread out also makes it harder to keep track of player options.
But most RPG's tend to have issues with future seeing and mind control powers especially because they can give PC's big I win buttons or are abused by GM's to railroad players or otherwise remove player agency. Mind tricks were touchy in my Star Wars Saga Edition game when a Jedi player used it on another player to try and get stuff for free, but I digress.
If they intend to create a power that could raise issues like that, I have no problem with them putting it in a "GM's" book like an adventure making them easier for a GM to say, "Yeah, I'm not going to deal with that in my game..."
Had a flash of an idea while sitting on the couch just now - about the prevalence of crystals/ holocrons in adventures. Who's to say they have to be for the PCs? Maybe after they have enough for their own, the next haul they have to locate other burgeoning Force-users, supply them with the necessary contraband, provide them some guidance, even ****** them out from under the nose of an Inquisitor searching for them as well.

Seriously, forum filter? The synonym for grab is verboten?

Haha, that is kind of amusing. However, if this synonym starts with an S and has 6 letters, it is sometimes used in a less then wholesome manner as an anatomical reference so I can see why they might filter it.
Hey, you know what the power should be? Shatterpoint would be an awesome power to include!
(settles back to watch Lethal Dose have an aneurysm)
Missed this on first pass. . . .
Looking forward to their explanation as to how a race of bird-men with wings can't actually fly. I suppose it's just gliding between trees like flying squirrels or something.
As a representative of the Angry Flightless Arctic Avian Guild, I take umbrage at your slander! It shall be pistols at dawn, sir!

There are many birds which are flightless, most have wings. An Ostrich has wings, a penguin as Deslok has brought up,chickens have particularly delicious wings... though how one confuses a chicken with a buffalo I'm not quite sure, but still.. their wings are tasty.

They are called buffalo wings because the bar that did them first was in Buffalo New York.

That is a nice bit of trivia.. I didn't actually think someone confused a chicken with a buffalo, that was more to continue with the somewhat comedic nature of the post as a whole
. I suspected it had to do with the use of Buffalo sauce though didn't know how that was named either. But there you go, learned something new today.
After Buffalo New York where it was first made. You have to understand that the stories are conflicting. All we know for sure is sometime in the 60s in Buffalo New York a bar deep fried chicken wings then covered them with a tomato based hot sauce and finally served them with blue cheese dressing and celery. Because the sauce and the wings were first created in Buffalo New York they are known as Buffalo.
Edited by DecorusSpecifically they are Buffalo style wings.
Brian Blessed's Beard with Buffalo sauce...
Talk about a subject change.
It was certainly not my intent to derail the thread... but apparently when I did I was very thorough.
soooooo Sathari wings anyone?
