We don't preorder at my store. We let them know who all will be buying how many when it drops so they know how many to get, then we pay when they arrive. Is that still preordering? Ok then, preordering without paying upfront.

Nope! This isnt preordering in my opinion, as you havent made any commitment. The store is simply taking a "poll" to see how much stock they should order!

I had a FLGS in the last town I was in that did this, but if you decided you didnt want something, it was no big deal, just extra inventory for the shelf. Demand was higher than supply most of the time.

In a perfect system, the customer should be able to place an order and submit payment info, then once the order has been filled and checked, the card should be charged, the the package shipped.

Unfortunately, with some places "preorders" they take the order, take payment, then sit on it till ALL the order is in stock before shipping! This is why the Hounds Tooth delay gets so frustrating as the rest of the order will sit there til who knows when!

Just as an FYI, miniature market (and I'm sure cool stuff as well) are generally pretty great about letting you change your order however you want. If you want to take the HT off, they'll let you. You may pay for shipping if you no longer qualify, or you can add something else if you want. All you have to do is send them a message on their site with what you want to do.

If this is true, Ill get a hold of them tomorrow and make some changes! My son told me hes in need of another EWing anyhow! Thanks for the heads up!

BTW, I received my Raider order today from MM, the packing was good, no crushed boxes this time and it was four day shipping due to Fedex Post. Im tickled about the Raider!

For real. Its tactician is still sick on the hound, you just can't cripple a ship for multiple turns now. Unless, you know, you keep shooting at it.

Thank you! I phoned MM this morning and was able to simply cancel the entire preorder! Their customer service is great! I will just wait til the ships arrive to place an order like usual!

So, sorry OP, seems it's just your store that is delayed in getting it.

It changed to shipping now at the same time as the rest of the wave, so I'm expecting an isolated delay.

Are all of the ships boxed together or is each boxed separately at the FFG-to-distributor level? It might be a regional delay, or maybe his distributor forgot to put his YV-666 in the box.

I think they are boxed separately. At least the 'box' ones anyway. My big Armada order came in one of the FFG shipping boxes and it had the name of just one of the ships (Gladiator I think) on the side.

Thanks for the heads up, I just placed my order with csi and made sure to order the hounds tooth separate just in case.

The shop does hold the expansions until we either purchase them or tell them we aren't. I've heard lots of horror stories about FLGS, but I've never had a problem, though I only play X-Wing there
