I got a question. Why is it called a Resistance? Why not call it the Alliance now as the empire was overthrown and they are no longer rebelling? But then again that would also be asking why a democratically elected leader was given the title of Queen.
Because jarjar abrhams likes to change things for the sake of it, why did Klingon get that terrible remake for into darkness because reasons.
Major reason I'm hesitant over the movie.

Rather than trying to intelligently integrate the expanded universe canon, they call it defunct and go"hey JarJar you made such a mockery of Star Trek here is Star Wars for you to mess with"

Well just to throw wood on the fire, I loved the new Star Trek, and I am a fan of the old. I think he did a great job with that franchise since people like my wife actually liked it. She can't stand older Trek, so his style captured people outside of the niche.
Osoroshii, I agree. You can never make the the masses of nerdery happy. Everybody is so worried about what their changing. Wait for the Aftermath novel to come out next month and help bridge why things are the way they are. Enjoy the ride, Star Wars is getting its time to shine again.
