Hi Guys,

I'm making some beasts. Care to help? I'm making art for them too. Fist, however, comes the brainstorming / idea phase. Well start with the first on my list, then continue:

AF'El Lions

So, first on my list of creatures that i'm making, are the AF'El Lions. Only mentioned in GG:6 Tramp Freighter's guide (pg 71 if your wondering). This creature doesn't have any background, other than it's planet, and no art to reference. In GG:6 they are part of Cairn's Flying Circus. Since these creatures come from AF'El, the Defel home world, they are going to have to be strong because of the gravity, and will have to have some interesting fur. Now, because of this, they also can only see in UV light, so I don't expect these creatures to have googles like the Defel's do, so instead, they will need extraordinary sense, perhaps smell to get around in the galaxy at large. I plan on having them a bit lower to the ground than a ordinary lion, and perhaps be a bit more fury too.

What idea's come to mind when visualizing this lion?

I'm visualizing a lion that is a bit of a burrower. It could have long shaggy fur on the top half of its body, and its lower half it would have short slick fur that could allow them to tunnel trenches above the surface, sliding through the dirt as it crawls leaving only the top half of its body exposed. You can kind of imagine its thick, shaggy fur on top to be a bit of a shell. If this lion creature can't see well, it's nose could be pointer with more whiskers, making it look like a bit of snout, giving it a better sense of smell. You can kind of see how this creature could resemble a fury armadillo. A lion tank. Of course, it should maintain its feline prowess being able to stalk and pounce with power and authority. Like a true lion.
