40 Points of Jonus and Howlie worth it for the Raider?

Maybe not in 300 point games, but I can see this being a thing in 400 point matches and up. Get some early game hits at range, then they depart and buff your fighters when the furball happens. Sticking them close to the Raider all game might not be the best use of them.

But hey, it frees up for crew slots from dice manipulation. Jonus works great on the Single Turbolasers, because the turbos themselves can change a focus to a hit, and Howile is great if you plan on firing the main weapon twice. Now you can do the coordinate action or some other one besides constantly target locking with weapons engineer, or taking that one shuttle and title to pass target locks to you.

Jonus is the raiders best pal

Better than 3 Tie defenders with HLC? (probably about the same points cost :P)

Problem with that, though, is that Assault Missiles and Ion Torp's exist...

I'll see your Jonus Raider and raise you 4 IG-2000s with Ion Cannons, HLCs and Autothrusters.

You can't reroll if you don't have the energy to fire. :D

What other imperial combos have people thought up of? Lets hear them!

There already is the target lock transfer shuttle.

Lets see:

One COULD have 2-3 shuttles with tac-jam's on them, then place a Flight instructor on the raider with the assailer title. Most likely they will be targeting from range 3 cause the shuttles are in the way and that means you get 2 evade dice, and if you reinforced, you can auto cancel one hit, change one evade dice eye to an evade, reroll the other dice, and cancel lots of damage maybe. If they target the shuttles, you can pull a biggs and use shield projector to force them to target you. :P

Okay, not the best, but its something silly you can do.

Another is Slicer Tools + Mara Jade/Tactician with Quad Guns.

Ionization Reactor and Saboteur maybe.

Darth Vader+Shield Technician+Instigator, spend 1 energy for 2 shields each turn, 3 with backup shield generator.

Moff Jerjerrod if you think you might take crits, because crits are terrifying to huge ships. Save it for a bad one, and discard him. I wonder if the emperor is worth 2 crits flipped face down on a decimator? :P
