How to deal with this Imperial list or is Motti too strong?

That 's it.

I know it's bareboned but being able to have 36 hull on the table seems off.

Even if it was distance 1-5 it'd be better but I faced this today and it's like a no-brainer list.

Every turn is either a repair or concentrate fire.

How would you deal with it?

And yes take out Motti but it was 3 Vic's with him in the middle so no great shots.

Space Potatoes can do it. Just got to focus one ship down. It takes time but those VSD's can't maneuver as well as the potato can. If the GSD tries to get in, it will die under volume of fire.

Flank it to one side.

This will be deployed in a line and even if the are close together simple move everything to one side of the line so you can focus fire and reciceve very little retaliation. If you play rebels it will be very easy to avoid shots if you need to and even you just bring down 1 ship that's a 73 point victory.

If any build is going to work getting the most out of Motti, its probably this list...

That being said, Bareboned Vic-1s are *okay*... I had V, V, G, and a Rhymer quartet today, and damage potential was nice... Another Vic instead of Rhymer, and yeah, it might work...

Screed makes the difference when it comes to Black Dice though... And those two points over the Hull points make more of a difference...

As Lyraeus affectionately put it, Assault Frigates can do it if they want to try to circle a bunch... They have to hope that you don't just dedicate a ship each to drive straight where they're going to go, because one Vic-1 Front arc at close range is equal to 2-3 long range pot shots on the way in... Positioning is Key, versus just picking a point and going... And if the Objective is something like "Contested Outpost", they can stay at range as much as they want, they won't blow through with enough time to start racking points too...

Honestly, a Screen of B-Wings will do it, too... The list does *not* pack enough Anti-Squadron Firepower to whittle down, say, even 2 B-Wings and 2-Y Wings, supported by even a single AF-II... Hell be told if it happens to be a Neb-B with Yavaris who is doing its damndest to stay in Squad Range but out of Black Die Range... Yes, you will get Yavaris, but if you're bunched up, you could quickly get a situation where you get torn through by Bomber Dice, and your Other Vic-IIs are not at enough range to survive much longer...

When it comes down to the individual, its 2 hull points... Think of what the enemy could be doing damage wise with those 2 hull points...

Even Luke throwing a Black Die Crit every once in a while with Dodonna lets him pick the worst damage for you to live with...

Funny you should say that cause that's what I ran today actually. Thing is he was using the dice app and NEVER missed a blue roll, seemed fishy to me so during the last turn he took out 3 full health B-wings and got 2 more to 2 health :/

I don't like dice apps. They are usually based off an algorithm that goes through the current time so it feels off to me.

I'd chalk it up to Statistically Improbable, but not Impossible...

My game 2 weeks ago was like that... Watching Demolisher, in two turns, throw out 10 Black Dice and get 10 Crit/Hits...

Its an outlier, and something you just have to suck up, knowing that it'll probably never happen again.

It's the same as Mikael when he had Advanced Gunnery teams on a VSD 1 and could not kill my Gladiator in his 3 front arc attacks.
