SWEET BABY JESUS THIS THING RULES!!!!
Blasphemy aside, it's what the doctor ordered for the Rebels. Did a play against myself, randomly drew Contested Outpost to play. Gave 1st to Imperials.
Rebels: (294)
AFmkII B w/ Adv Proj, Enhanced Arm, Exp Hang, and Dodonna
2x CR90 w/ Eng Team, Enhanced Arm, one was Jaina one was Tantive
Wedge, Dutch, Y Wing, X Wing
Empire: (297)
VSD II w/ Warlord and Screed
VSD II w/ Gunnery and XX9
GSD I w/ Demolisher, ACM, and Engine Techs
I held the station for two turns as the Rebels before the Empire forced me out. They paid dearly early when Demolisher thought he was the man and got ahead of the VSD's. Two Structural Damage crits from the Fighters just piled the damage on and he was toast by Turn 3.
Almost lost Jaina's but she got out of range after taking a beating. Then nearly ran out of room to turn her around. Got the non flagship VSD on the way out of town. I'm pretty sure resulting from the fighter bombardment post softening from the fleet.
Ultimately I won without losing a single ship, only the 2nd time I've managed to. Unfortunately the AF carrier ran out of range, as did the remainder of the fleet. Leading to a 6th round of AA fire and only one Y Wing getting a shot. I think the MoV was 158 points.
I'll add more photos as Photobucket allows. Being a real jerk right now.
My takeaway from this is that the space potato whale is pretty impressive. Run it with AP and watch your opponent hate having to strip through every. Single. Shield. Works nice as a carrier as well. I want to love the Neb B, but I've yet to have success feel so natural as the game progresses. That being said, I had some real hot die rolls. I think that's important for people to remember. One slightly worse roll from a fighter or a ship and that GSD got one more turn to lob a ton of black die into the frigate. Could have been a lot different.
