Saturday Afternoon I added some detail and some gun mounts.
If you leave it unpainted, you could pretend that space stations require lots of advertising sponsors to be profitable. ![]()
I love it man! Keep up the good work! I look forward to the final results.
Very cool! Where are the gun emplacements from?
the gun emplacements are scratch built from evergreen stripstyrene .080x.080 strip item No. 164 for the turret and .025 rod item No. 219 for the gun tubes. I will post photos of the process later tonight.
Just to let you all know I am building this platform for use in the con game at Council of Five Nations Oct 2 to 4 http://swa-gaming.org/council
"its a rescue mission you'll love it" the Rebels need to get the VIPs off the platform and so do the Imperials, Rebs start attacking the platform controlled by the Imps and the Imp ships have to break through to get the VIPs off and stop them.
Its shaping up to be a blood bath with 6 players on a side and the Imperial ships jumping in on turn 2 and 3 and lunching fighters
I know lots of house rules but this game is all about fun. Yes I also will build some transports to board the platform and remove the VIPs.
awesome looking so far man, keep up the good work I wish my hands were steady enough to even think about attempting something like this.
first you glue 2 of the rods together length wise and cut bits for the gun tubes. cut cubes from the ,08 strip and cut an corner off at about 45 deg. for the turrets, then glue the gun tubes to the turret. simple but very small work
sorry but I don;t have a macro lens for my camera
Very good.
OK I built a base for the platform yesterday, and cut out a bunch of bits for it but did not fit them on. so here is a photo of the new base and a ship for scale.
The base is made from 3/8" plexiglass If anyone with the card making skill and is willing to make a card and base cover art for this I can send you the size of the base and data.
just let me know and send me any email [email protected]
Seriously outstanding job. I was making a station literally the square footage of half an Armada/X-wing board awhile ago, for some idea of scale my base parts were foam inserts that I pulled out of a box a printer came in, this thing was stupid huge. I wanna get back to building it now LOL.
I would like to see photos of that.
There's a Taco Bell on that space station! Lets go!
But good work, looks awesome.
yea TB always have a big pile of gift cards at their check out and don't care if you take some, good source of card stock
Great job so far.
I'm sorry I have not done any work on the platform project this week I have been building a new painting desk and running lights and power to a unused space by the stairs to make a project cubicle to get it all off the gaming and playing table
No worries. I would imagine most of us have less time to work on our hobbies that we'd like to have.
so here are some photos of what I worked on this week including building the desk to fit in the space.
Now I can get back to painting and building minis ![]()
Is there room up there for those fan bldes to turn?
Otherwise, looks good.
Nice use of Expanded Hanger Bays.
Yes 2" on each side
and 6" over the top of the last shelf so no big things on the top
I worked on the platform today more photos later today
new photos progress is being made even if I did a total rebuild on the arms
enjoy.

Oh man that rebuild looks so much better!
And the first iteration was high quality work to begin with!
Just to let you all know I did not forget you, I got side tracked into another project Its a prototype for a dice tower that I will be making 100s of I hope. I still need to work and make money ![]()
