Kath and howel (99/100)

=======================

Firespray-31: Kath Scarlet (38 + 8)

+ Calculation (1)

+ "Mangler" Cannon (4)

+ Recon Specialist (3)

TIE Fighter: "Howlrunner" (18 + 5)

+ Swarm Tactics (2)

+ Hull Upgrade (3)

TIE Fighter: Academy Pilot (12 + 3)

+ Hull Upgrade (3)

TIE Fighter: Academy Pilot (12 + 3)

+ Hull Upgrade (3)

Not sure if hull upgrade or stealth for the Tie Fighters any thougjts

As mainly a Rebel player this is a great target list. But in general it isn't to bad. Though i do want to ask if your willing to drop the hull upgrade and maybe an ac or 2 for another named tie?

I think i get where you are wanting to go with this though. The more red dice the better. Not a bad idea for a new twist on a tie swarm.Just remember that some of the new meta might be tougher than what we know it to be with the new s&v ships. Good hunting and please keep evolving ;)

Well, if you drop the 11 pts of upgrades off all the TIEs, you have enough points for another academy TIE. And what's better than 3 TIEs? 4! :P

Does this look any better i droped all the hull upgrades for 3 ties shooting at ps 8Kathnfriends v2 (98/100)

I dunno if its better, honestly. Shooting at PS8 is nice and all, but with only 3 shots throwing 2 attack dice each? Its not exactly scary. Kath is decent, but the support seems lacking. I still think 4 TIEs would be better.

What about adding a doom shuttle in place of a couple TIEs so you can get a bit more damage?

Kath w/ Calculation, 'mangler' & recon = 46

Lambda w/ Darth Vader = 24

Howlrunner = 18

Academy pilot = 12

100

Or drop the 'mangler' for so some upgrades to protect howlrunner. Hard to keep both large ships close to howlie (to benefit from her re-roll ability though):

Kath w/ calculation & recon spec = 42

Lambda w/ Vader & tactical jammer = 25

Howlrunner w/ swarm tactics = 20

Obsidian pilot = 13

100

I'm not exactly sure the best way to fly this list. Putting the shuttle out front seems obvious, but of course, its hard to get it lined up on the enemy with the rest of your fleet following it (also makes the red 'stop' move awkward----and you'll need to use that often). Alternatively, you can keep the two TIEs close kath and always plop the shuttle in the middle of your deployment. That way regardless of how your opponent deploys, you'll be able to get it to where you need it most without it getting out of position early on.

Honestly, howl runner isn't worth taking if you are not taking a swarm, you'd be better off with a pilot like backstabber to fill in there.

Four tie fighters would be the best way to go. Upgrades are nice, but for about the same price you can add two more attack dice in addition to the three hull.

If that tie fighter blocks even one soontir Fel, he's the true champion of the Empire.

I decided to drop all the upgrades pn the ties and add a 4th

Drop the Hull ups for another TIE and I like it. A good rule for Howl is the more ships around her, the more amplified her pilot ability is.

Doesn't hurt to try both lists, though!

Mangler and Calculation/RecSpec is redundant. I would drop Calc/RecSpec and replace it with VI/RebCap.

As your list stands, a Soontir could easily ruin your day. If you downgrade Howlrunner to an AP, you'll have room to give Kath Engine Upgrade as well a 98 point initiative bid.

Not necessarily. Kath's ability works whenever the opponent cancels a crit. If you roll two, he can cancel one, get stressed and still take a crit. I'm not sure, but if the opponent cancels two crits he may get double stressed. Also, Mangler doesn't work at all in the rear arc. Calculation does.

"When attacking, the defender receives 1 stress if he cancels at least 1 [crit]" so one stress is the max you can receive.

I agree with what you're saying, but I meant more that Mangler and Calc/RecSpec is redundant in terms of stress-building whereas RebCap + Mangler isn't (you can actually get multiple stress). You make a good point about the rear arc, but I'm still not a fan of the overlap in the front arc and I find Rebel Captive too good to pass up if there's another option.
