Edited by cutpStar Wars coming to Disneyland & Disney World
I read this a week ago and thought it was crazy. Now I'm beginning to agree with it.

Disney will run it into the freaking ground it's what they do the only reason marvels avoiding it is because they have the variety to keep it interesting.
Star wars is much narrower in its focus its got dozens of main characters to the hundreds marvel can draw upon.

"So if something happens on a ride in Disneyland or in mobile game, it also happened in the world inhabited on the big screen."
Star Tours space bus will be canon and in our game Yipee!!
They need a gaming area to host X-wing tournaments.

Oh, I get that. The crazy part thinking I would actually get sick of it. I totally thought Disney would try to run it into the ground.
Edited by GiraffeandZebraIf Disney and the story group are wise, they will keep things fresh by telling different stories within the universe. For instance:
Rebel 1 could very easily be made into a heist movie. And if one of the main characters has kids, I'd be interested in watching a RomCom of that relationship. How about a horror movie about a bunch of kids trying to figure out the mystery of the Dark Side Cave on Dagobah? A political thriller about an Imperial bureaucrat who realizes that the whole system is rotten, but can't actually view the Rebellion as a force for justice. Or a drama about an Imperial Citizen who tries to help enslaved wookies get to freedom.
The trick is that they can't _all_ be action movies. They can't _all_ be Huge Action Extravaganzas that Threaten the Universe Itself.

no
ruining mystery is bad
might be good
would be too hamfisted to be good

It actually is in a way right now.
The shuttle and the droid that piloted it in the ride have both had roles in Rebels.
My decision to move to Florida is looking better and better
Okay, I have now made it my personal mission to pester my wife into going to Disney World...once this battle station is fully armed and operational, of course.

RomCom gets a straight out "no"? I guess I'll just have to enjoy it twice.
Also: I never said that the Dark Side Cave would get solved. Just that it's the setting of a horror movie. Attempting to solve it is what bring our 4-6 padawans to Dagobah. When they are cut down one by one and murdered or turned, it makes Luke's Ep 5 trip look even more impressive.
Well, that's just fantastic!
I appreciate that Disney is actually willing to do things with Star Wars. Y'know, that thing Lucas never wanted to do much of.
They're treating it like the modern and successful franchise it is. Good on them.

basically I can count the number of funny romcoms on a fingerless glove, can't /really/ be funny without sufficient contrast
runs into the problem where you make EVERYTHING super important. I mean, the EU does it as well, but it's a lot easier to not read a book or comic. also, series where the main cast is entirely mid-teens with attitude are always nothing but cringe

Let's establish a film where the word Padawan is brutally repressed. They should've just called them students and apprentices instead of a made up word that means the same.
A teen slasher flick on Dagobah seems like a no.
I'd like to see what happened on Dathomir with the ship Yoda was on.
A RomCom? I thought we had that with Episode 2. (Someone had to say it)

And whaddya know, it wasn't funny.

I agree wholeheartedly. After the prequel trilogy, Star Wars no longer has a pristine reputation. It does it no good to sit quiet. Let's have more!
It's a [galaxy] of laughter, a [galaxy] of tears
It's a [galaxy] of hopes and a [galaxy] of fears
There's so much that we share that it's time we're aware
It's a small [galaxy] after all

It's a small, small [galaxy]
There is just one [capital] and one [Emperor]
And a [sith] means [devastation] to everyone
Though the [politics] divide
