Ive purchased some large orders in the past from MM and never had a problem and received my minis within 2-3 days. I preordered the Raider and suddenly my shipping for my $100+ order takes 10 days to ship? Anyone else notice this? I'm likely done ordering from them with this new shipping. Any suggestions for purchasing ships with a couple of day turn around? And yes I'm aware that I can always buy them at my LGS (which I do frequently).
Miniature Market changes shipping and screws over big order customers?
No offense, but this probably isn't the appropriate place to complain about specific retailer shipping details? It really has nothing to do with x-wing or even Star Wars.
That said, I shop at CSI mostly, I like their rewards program better
Edited by perniciousducksI suspect that it is changes to FedEx, which I believe is the free shipping option for both CSI and MM. I saw someone explain this elsewhere.
Of course, everything else feels slow after Amazon Prime.

I'm pretty sure it the change to Fedex. I ordered Imperial Assault shortly after they started using them and it took much longer than usual. 10 days sounds about right to me. It is free shipping, if you must have it right away, then just pay for a faster S&H, or go to a local game shop and pay the full MSRP. Cheap and slow or fast and expensive, those are your options, no one is screwing you over.

This is specifically about the shipping of my Raider so it is Star Wars related. This isn't me trashing MM. I am dissatisfied because my free shipping was 2-3 days and now it's 10 days. I just wanted to find out if others were experiencing the same thing and how they felt about it. The notice on their site said they have changed their free shipping to a different FedEx version and it will take 1-2 days longer. I fell screwed over because 3 (my usual delivery time) + 2 days longer than usual does not equal 10 days. As customer of Star Wars minis (in case you thought it was about something else) that upsets me.
Like radarman said, you pay for what you get.
You want it free then suck it up!
10 days is not that bad for US shipping, you should be happy your not outside the states trying to order things.
Im in NZ, sending anything from the US to here is sooooooo painful.
I say order from bookdepository, UK shipping is far for reliable

My father always used to say, "What do you want for nothing, your money back?"
I paid for 2nd day shipping, received my product after two days. Good deal.
You go for the free shipping, obviously there's a compromise, right?

A. You felt screwed over because something free wasn't good enough for you?
B. "This isn't me trashing MM" no, this is about how you think they screwed you. Totally different. I mean it's not like you could just say "the site I order my miniatures from takes too long for my tastes, can someone recommend one faster than 10 days free? Thanks"
C. This is clearly MM's complaint department.
It's because the free shipping option is Fedex Smartpost, which is one of the least consistent methods currently available.
Smartpost generates a label and passes the package between completely different carriers as possible according to their shipping system, which theoretically results in the fastest possible shipment for the lowest price but, realistically, seems to do exactly the opposite.
Me gonna select cheap shippins... den when me no get da toys super fast next MF'n days!!!... me gonna come on here and make ass-comments about Miniatures Markets... and dats what me gonna doo... toot-toot!

10 days is rough for free shipping but I suppose it depends on distance, in the UK 3 days is stretching it for free post.

I got mine yesterday???? seemed pretty quick to me? and whats a few days after the year of waiting???
The proposed arrival date can change. Mine started off as saying Monday, but it's shifted to Saturday.
I ordered on the 11th with their free shipping. Delivery expected the 17th. That's only 4 business days later and it didn't ship until the 12th.
Cheap and slow or fast and expensive, those are your options.
Well, or you buy it on Amazon and get cheap and fast.
Mine shipped just fine. Here in ~5 days and I am all the way across the country. Maybe an aberration? Either way, I split between CSI and MM. Like 'em both.
I'm in NC and it's suppose to arrive on Saturday, 5 days after it shipped. It was Fedexed to Charlotte, and then is being shipped to US postal services. That whole USPS deal is just adding a day. It's annoying.
I ordered only a Raider from MM using the cheapest shipping option and got it in 3 days (Fedex Smartpost, MO to MI). I'm not sure what is causing your ship time to be 10 days, but that sounds extraordinary.
I'll note that the tracking originally said I wouldn't get my Raider until next Monday or Tuesday, but it arrived today (Friday)
Edited by PygonI still don't understand how you're being screwed over. If you're getting everything you ordered, and you're getting it via the method you chose, and the only downside is that it's going to take longer than you supposed it might...then I don't really see the problem. Maybe the title should have been "Miniature Market changes shipping and now stuff takes longer." Or, maybe you just haven't ever actually been screwed over by a company before and, in your innocence, you think this is that. It isn't. Getting screwed over really stings and usually leads to hours spent on customer service phone calls, petitioning your card issuer to force a refund, etc.
What you're experiencing is a different kind of frustration altogether, and it's called "you get what you pay for." It can still be frustrating, for sure, and for a small window of time your emotions may even get the best of you and make it seem like it's the other party's fault, but time heals all wounds and you'll soon come to realize (though not before turning to the internet, unfortunately) that any blame, if it should even be called that, rests solely with the person in search of low prices at the cost of convenience.
Oh and perniciousducks was correct that your invented issue with MM has nothing to do with X-wing or Star Wars, and it's really confusing to me why you would think otherwise. Your post is a complaint about longer-than-anticipated shipping times initiated by a company other than FFG, with the fact that the shipment in question contains a Star Wars licensed product(s) being completely irrelevant; it could easily have contained My Little Ponys or Flames of War miniatures and that wouldn't have made it any more or less appropriate to start a thread about on the FFG X-Wing community page. While I agree that this page should be used to alert the community to actual problems with third-party vendors (not delivering products, missing minis, scams, etc.) it's certainly inappropriate to call out a high-profile online seller whose only fault is allowing customers to voluntarily choose free shipping with the full knowledge that it will take longer than other shipping options they charge for.

Mine was similar! I ordered Wed afternoon, it shipped Thurs! Expected delivery, NEXT THURSDAY! Today it is sitting about 250 miles from me with expected delivery of Monday!
Normally their free delivery takes three BUSINESS days, Th, Fr, Mo is three business days again, just as I expected originally.
Give it a chance to update!

100% This.
OP your an idiot. Pay for quicker shipper man/woman. Seriously, you get 35% discount on retail and FREE shipping saving another $10 or so and you still whine? That's just stupid.
I preordered the Raider from Miniature Market along with Star Wars Imperial Assault Core and all of wave 1 for it. It was like $230 and I saved around $120 on it. Free shipping is great as its 11 pounds and would have cost a fair penny.
Grow up and wait. Or be willing to pay for quicker shipping.
I pre-ordered my Raider and a few other odds & ends to get my total over $100; it shipped Monday and I received it Wednesday. I've had a few other items take a bit longer than I would like, but overall I have nothing but admiration and respect for MM. I'm dying to visit their brick-and-mortar shop the next time I'm in St. Louis.
