The Task

By Omnislash024, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I very much want Bonds of the Wild, but not really keen on spending the thirty five bucks for it. So... I'm putting myself to the challenge. Got to beat both Nature's Ire and Forgotten Souls with 4 heroes each in order to buy it. Wish me luck.

(Amazon has it for $25). Good luck!

you may cheat too if needed

and you will likely be able to be them more with Challara as a necromancer ....

(I say that, i've done it recently ...)

Y'know since Amazon is actually Headquartered in my state, I have to pay tax for anything I buy from them.

8% of $25 is $2. The cost on amazon would have to be upwards of $32 for the tax difference to matter.

So first Co-Op try was a disaster. Nature's Ire, Leoric as Runemaster, Ulma as Apothecary, Laurel as Wildlander and Pathfinder Durik as Beserker. It must have been fate, cause Leoric's first Blast attack was a miss. I re-rolled it because it's the first darned attack in the game. Just barely ended up killing all the monsters in the intro before the timer went off. With Durik barely clinging onto life, as we are at the first door, get jumped by a goblin patrol. They all have monstrous hits. Forced to open the door, it turns out to be Forgotten Falls. Yeahp... packing this one up.

Observation: Durik is a Scout disguised as a Warrior. I won't ever use him for a heavy Tanking job, but If I want a nice buffed scout, he'll be it. In fact...

Durik as Beastmaster, Ashrian as Spiritspeaker, Dezra as Necromancer and Trenloe as Beserker for next round.

For all I read you guys talking about co-ops, I give up buying any of these. Most of the times seems unbeatable, mainly for a beginer like me.

I'm getting pretty far in this round, despite there being a few setbacks ( Like Trenloe the STRONG failing a strength check on the blocked path to give everyone Max fatigue. ) They're good for learning how to play your heroes well... if you don't play well you'll get trounced.

Got to the end Encounter and lost. Peril card puts spawns the whole Spider group around Durik. Then with no viable targets they all attack him and Knock him out which ends the game. The worst part was the Ettin was instructed to throw him beforehand. Had that had happened, he might have landed out of harm's way. Instead he passed and got chomped on. I call BS really.

I won Nature's Eyre with Eliam as Skirmisher and I believe the others were all high speed characters.

Haven't been so fortune with Dark Elements yet!
