How's everyone storing their Imp Raider?

By Hush, in X-Wing

Funny, as I am a GW refugee and already had the Plano!

Battlefoam usually takes a few weeks to get templates in place, so nice to see them on top of things. Also, new templates for pilot and damage cards. Very cool. Just created a custom foam for my raider and the decimator that's been sitting on my shelf for a while. Oh, to answer question above, I think 3 inch thickness ought to do it.

I like this option, but does anyone have the dimensions for the ship cards handy? I'm currently estimating it at 240mm, but don't have them in front of me at the moment.

Also, based on an 80mm square for each of the plastic bases, wouldn't a 3.5" square be better?

Exactly like this, but add a Tantive.

Waiting for the Battle foam template!!

I'm sure they'll make a combo one for both the Raider and the Gozanti, which is, go course, just fine.

how will that wok if you own both? or plan to..lol

In the shed, at the end of the garden, top shelf behind a massive toolbox, so the wife can't see, "more of them stupid toys" her words not mine. I keep a massive box of adult magazines on the same shelf, just to distract her from my plastic shame.

I've got mine stored on the 6th planet of the Hoth system

At the moment ive got all my ships in a KR Multicase, and I have room left in my 3 boxes so I will either go with a KR tray ( gonna have to see what they offer) or I might see if I can get a Battlefoam tray that will fit with the KR foams.

Modelshelf.

If I can find room...

Toss it out with the rest of the Tie Advanced 's other excess packaging.

Seriously though I have absolutely no desire to pop this out of its crypt even once.

I'm a bit concerned about the bottom "wing"/solar collector. It seems flexible enough, but I worry that leaving the Raider sandwiched in foam will cause the wings/panels to warp - especially the bottom one.

Just got mine today, but I did the same thing I did with my CR90. Took the thing to the WalMart shoe department and looked for a shoebox that would fit it. Found one and sent a picture of the shoes to my wife to make sure she liked them. The box is a perfect fit and I got brownie points from the wife.

Someone makes those black and yellow cases for tools. Is it Black and Decker? I saw someone fit their Tantive in one case and had room for some Transports. It looked big enough to fit in the Tantive and Raider in their original plastic. I'd love to go for that option. I priced it out before at around $12.

You're thinking of Stanley - and yes you can fit a Raider, Tantive and Transport in one of their Sortmaster 195839 Organiser cases - you will have to cut out the built-in compartments though.

See my last post - that's what I did

Use to carry the CR-90 and the GR-75 in the top compartment of my Plano box but since no one else had any huge ships, I took them out. I'm assuming the Raider will fit in there unless I ditch on my bookcase with the 90 & the 75.

as i´m still waiting for the raider to arrive can someone plz meassure the exact length and width of the raider and the tantive?

preferably in millimeters

One day they will sing songs about you!

Heads up though - you will have to remove the radar dish on the CR-90 when storing

In the plastic vacuum formed holder it comes in, which itself is put into the box.

Most games I play aren't epic games, I don't need to carry it with me at all times.

In my Large/Huge ship case.

It's a Mastercraft pick-&-pluck foam case. Metal exterior, cost $25

I'm having problems looking for the Stanley case that can carry my epic ships. I have to say that I'm still on pain meds from my surgery and I can't drive. So, I can't just zip around to different stores and look at what they have. I was able to make it to one Lowes hardware store yesterday, but they were utterly sold out of anything that was even close to what I need. Annoying. I want to be able to see what it is before I buy it and I don't want to order online. Surely, there is a store nearby that sells what I need.

Funkleton gave me the model he used as Sortmaster 195839. When I google it, I only seem to get UK websites with that. So, maybe that's a UK coding?

When I look at Stanley cases, there are a number of different ones in the US that I can seem to get. One of them is the Stanley Sortmaster Jr, which description says is only 2" or so tall. That doesn't seem like it would be able to support it. Anyone know if that's true? It is readily available in most stores, though.

There seems to be a regular Sortmaster and there seems to be a "deep" version. The deep one seems to have yellow containers that I can take out. It seems like it might be a better version, but it is more expensive. Has anyone tried either of these? Is one better than the other?

Lastly, does anyone know where I can go to get one of these without ordering it online? Walmart? Lowes? Target? Home Despot?

Thank you for any help or suggestions.

I think that the "Stanley 195839" means the double pack. I don't want a double pack. I want just one. I need to know what the name of just one is so that I can look in the store for it.

I look up:

Product Dimensions 6.9 x 17 x 13.1 inches

STANLEY STST14021 Sort Master Light Organizer:

Product Dimensions

11.5 x 2.7 x 8.4 inches

NOT GOOD

Stanley STST14027 SortMaster Tool Organizer:

Product Dimensions 16.8 x 13 x 3.4 inches

NOT GOOD

Stanley 014026R SortMaster Organizer

17 x 13.1 x 3.4 inches

NOT GOOD

UGH.....so I can't seem to find a SINGLE case....in a local store....that has the 6.9" dimensions.

Unless the 6.9" is for two 3.4" stacked...
