Sorry I haven't given you anything to go on lately; information has been chaotic with the buildup, now cooldown of Gencon.

Armada wave 2 has been delayed until Q3 and even this is still a 'projection'. I'm not any happier about it than you; I'm looking forward to full forward firepower for my Imperial fleet.

With the cat out of the bag about a super secret release that's 'on the water' that may or may not be in line with Hasbro's release on Sept. 4 for episode 7 you can imagine logistics are pretty twisted. X-wing probably has the longer stick in this situation so Armada looks like it got sacrificed.

However, for you x-wing fans that didn't make it to the show, wave 7 will be in your hands August 25th and the Raider has been available for 2 days since this post.

Still not going to fret about it, this will give me time to get the funds together and some Epic X-Wing in. That and I just had surgery after a broken arm, so everything sounds fine after that.

It is better news than we had Beatty. We were thinking October at the earliest, now we can think last September is more likely.

I always tought late September as the likely date. One can hope.

We are halfway through Q3 already. I know you always provide solid info, so I'm not accusing you of stating the obvious and claiming it as insider info. Was the 3 a typo and did you mean to say Q4?

He likely means Q3. With the Episode 7 reveal approaching it is likely that the Armada blackout is tied to that.

I don't see why though, unless that reveal is utilizing the same resources that would otherwise be producing Armada. Bet wave three has ep 7 ships though. New Order Star Destroyer anyone?

My point is that telling us it is delayed until Q3 doesn't make much sense when A) The ships are not out yet, B) We are already halfway through Q3. In other words, "well duh." It is news in that Q3 is earlier than Q4 (the date from GenCon), however he didn't word it that way. He worded it as if this was a setback.

In order to meet a Q3 release date, the ships will have to go from in print to on the boat in the next couple weeks, and that is assuming a 4 week timeframe for being on the boat. I think we all know that is a best case scenario, but that could be what he meant by it being a projection.

4-6 actually. I was thinking 6-8. I edited my post to reflect that.

I imagine they do use the same resources. There's nothing fundamentally different in terms of production between the two games. Scaling production up and down is no easy task so it's not a surprise they respond by juggling internal order of production.

Honestly I hope you are wrong. Wave two IA, Wave 7 X-Wing, and Force Awakens stuff all that close together is too much.

Wrong about what? Imperial Assault stuff is shipping now, in stores next week. FFG said at GenCon that they hoped X-Wing would be in stores 2-3 weeks after GenCon, which matches up with the date given here. FFG also CONFIRMED they have something Episode VII related on the boat as of GenCon and ready to be released for Force Friday on September 4th. We don't know what it is. So yeah, all that stuff will be this close together.

I'm hoping he is wrong about Wave 7. I know IA is already shipping. It's right here on this site. I'd rather wave 7 in September after Force Awakens stuff.

Yeah, unfortunately for you (or your wallet ), I think he is probably right.

Personally, I don't play IA (yet) and I already got my wave 7 X-Wing stuff at GenCon. Armada and whatever shows up for Force Awakens is all I am waiting for. Oh, and any RPG books. There are a couple of those on the boat as well.
