....is awesome! I've been meaning to post this for days to gush about the newest addition to my rebel fleet. Thanks to a friend at GenCon I have one, and the mini is phenomenal. I know a lot of people liked hating on it when it was revealed, saying it was horribly ugly. I have to say that it is ugly in a totally endearing way, like pugs. Or babies.

I also love just imposing this thing is on a small base. It's almost as wide as the outrider! The Kihraxz isn't exactly a terribly small ship, but it looks downright tiny next to the K-Wing. I love the WWII bomber styling, everything about it. Granted, hardpoints munitions don't feel super "Star Wars" in a way, but I love this ship!

FFG did an excellent job converting a ship with horrible concept art into a fantastic mini, that's for sure.

Thanks to my friend who went to GenCon, I have one as well. It definitely looks better in person. Looks great on my playmat. =)

Second the OP. This is a phenomenal model, and a great ship in the game. Cruising around with a turret, jamming the field with bombs, this thing requires a new playstyle for me and delivers a strong presence in a squad (which is good since it takes up a bunch of squad points, too).

For those of you "it's ugly!" commenters, it pairs quite well with an E-Wing, so you can get all your ugly on the table at once. :-P

It's ugly as sin. Its vile countenance and dirty payload will be the perfect affront to my enemies and their sleek, streamlined, self-consciously cool triangles of death.

My problem with it is there's just no cohesiveness to it's design. It's like parts of 4 completely unrelated ships were cobbled together in a bad kitbash. The main wings are too rectangular - they need some tapering or some sweep (forward or backward). Meanwhile the nose has some curves, but looks like it was cut out of the middle of a bigger (maybe flying wing or Cylon or Dralthi) curved ship. Needs a longer, more built-up fuselage to connect the cockpit to the wings and engines. And those ventral wings? Because more wings with more bombs! And landing gear! As someone said previously, external munitions aren't very Star Wars.

As much as I think B-Wings are a bit silly looking, at least they have an overall design aesthetic which the K-Wing just lacks. We'll see if my opinion changes like the OP's did once I have one in hand. FFG probably did the best they could with the source material they had.

At least the punisher is made from 4 of the same ship!
