So looking at the TIE advanced with it's new RotJ Grayish Blue color and well it seems a little underwhelming. When compared to all the different details and touches on the X-wing from the rebel transport (fig 1) which has added stripes, nose, even colored the droid, this repaint seems like the least expressive of all the repaints. Taking a look at the Aces and most wanted pack I find the TIE advanced to be a bit underwhelming. Sure the Imperial Aces (fig 2) didn't have that much additional detail but it stood out from the original expansion model paint scheme.

So maybe I was expecting too much. I don't know sort of like a reddish cockpit as shown on the pilot card of commander alozen (Fig 3). That would definitely give it more distinction from the RotJ shaded color.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate another character model and the Raider model is worth enough for the price. I just find the repaint lacking charachter. For those that got a raider what do you think about the repainted TIE Advance model?

The differences are subtle, to the point if you don't have perfect eye sight (color blindness, farsighted) you might miss it.

• Yellow nose
• Yellow Stripe painted along the body from the cockpit to the nose
• Red stripes painted around the front of the engines
• Red Astromech.

That's not a red cockpit. It's a reflection of the yellow planet on the tinted cockpit.

I like it because if matches Ali my other TIEs. It really makes my old Advance stand out with its nearly white paint. Every one knows which Advanced Vader is flying now!

The white one? I'm not actually sure.

I kind of hate non-uniformity with my imperial ships. I like the blood stripes on my 1 Interceptor, but the red one just sticks out and makes me want to either paint it to match the others, which would mean I'd have to repaint 3 of them so all the colors match or paint another one red, which means I'd need to repaint the red one red too. So I never use that one.

When ever I get the Raider and Gozanti I'll end up repainting all 7 TIE Fighters and 2 TIE Advanced. I'm really not looking forward to that, I hate painting the wings on TIEs.

Yeah, I like having all the TIEs uniform. The TIE Bomber colors bug me the most - we need a TIE Bomber repaint pack!

Me too. That's why I traded my Imperial Aces Interceptors to friends for the normal ones.

Once the Gozanti is out, I plan to try and trade my old TIEs for those, since those are the bluish color that matches most of the other TIEs.

Unfortunately, with the Advanced, neither color scheme seems to match the other TIEs.

It's... functional. Unless it's a unit that gets blood-stripes or the like, there isn't much that does differ for Imperial forces, so their variety is limited.

That said, I appreciate having a couple ships that are coloured differently, just to aid in identification.

I need a side by side photo comparison to tell... well, until I see it with my own eyes.

I think it is perfect that the imperial side is all uniform and orderly, with only minor differences in the ships to allow them to play their different roles. It gives a feel that you are playing (or playing against) something vast, cold, and highly organized.

Can someone show a good picture of the alternate TIE Advanced?
