Accrued from time spent reading various topics, this is my contribution to a lot of them. Especially the topics of how useful a Gozanti will be and Episode VII.

I begin with Episode VII:

New X-Wing models?

First I'm not sure what the point of making new X-Wings will be, beyond a slightly different look, new pilots and perhaps a few upgrades. But I'm not a huge X-Wing fan (ship not game btw) so perhaps I'm a little biased here.

New Tie Fighters?

Yes they are possible with a bottom turret. Yes they are! Like the Rebel B-Wing, the peg would be on the back not the bottom. Not sure how it would attach to a Gozanti (the models that is), but they'd still fit face down.

I love Tie Fighters and would love them more with the groovy new paint scheme and a turret. I'm holding back from buying any more Tie Fighters until I see whether these get released.

New Millennium Falcon?

So it has a new dish. Geriatric Han. Perhaps a couple of new upgrades. Personally, I don't care if it's the same ship with a different dish. I prefer the new dish to the big round dish. Personal taste thing, but I'm still going to get both versions.

First Episode VII Wave?

If not a New Starter, then a New Falcon

Gozanti usefulness explained:

It has shields.

Ties don't.

Ties while docked are protected by its shields.

Depending on the rules for when a Tie detaches itself, I can see Gozanti's being used as shield hats until they're up close and personal to enemy ships. Then the Ties swoop out from safety and unleash a volley of Range 1 shots.

There's also the Range increaser. Gozanti moves at top speed, drops Ties who move at full speed and hopefully get to shoot at an enemy turn 1. In my experience (two games admittedly) it usually takes a second turn to move into range.

Both the "Shield Hat" and "Range Increaser" bear in mind that only two Ties can deploy after Gozanti performs a manoeuvre. But the Shield Hat could be used anyway with four Ties over two turns. Or Four Ties could do a combo, the first two dropping Turn 1 and the other two waiting until they see the whites of the enemy eyes.

Scum Epic Ships:

Minstrel Class Yacht/Star Jewel and Action IV/Wilde Karrde

I was going to say more but my brain has just fried! Will get an R2 unit to repair the synapses but all previous, unposted data, has been lost.

So what would be the point of new ties if there weren't going to be new X-wings? Just new cards would work, right?

Sure there may not be much of a reason for either (not much reason for the X-wing, some valid ones for the the TIE fighter), but people are still going to want to have both. It wouldn't be quite the same flying a T-70 with the T-65 model on the board, in my opinion.

Anyways, I agree with the Falcon statement, I don't care either way, but if a new model gets released I'll probably pick it up.

The Gozanti, sadly, cannot shield TIE fighters. I can't find a video of it, but if you've watched the Rebels season 2 preview you'll know what I mean.
