TIE fighter cockpit continuity

By Forgottenlore, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I just now noticed, TIE fighter cockpit windows don't match between interior and exterior shots in the movies. They are rotated 22.5 degrees relative to each other. In the exterior shots, a corner of the octagonal windows are on top, in the interior shots the flat side of the octagon is on top.

Is this a commonly known continuity problem?

I never noticed before. And we used to loop the TIE fighter attack scene on a 8mm film projector back in the day...

And people complain about continuity problems in the EU :P

Must compensate for left-torsion tendencies. Compensated spin seating. (Lol, Aviation mechanic.)

Maybe the inside is a shell within a shell and the cockpit...Yeah they messed up but so do modern movies so I declare a Sith wizard did it.

They are actually spinning very slowly the entire time.

I dont know why your double quoted. The out of universe designers felt that the cockpit view of all TIEs needed to be changed so the pilot / camera / viewer could see better. They didnt bother to change the minis to fit with the changes to the full scale cockpit, because... If anyone ever watches the documentries or plays the movies with audio tracks that have GL making comments about the making of his films, they will know about the issue you have brought up.

Then agian if anyone watched what I mentioned people wouldnt be accusing GL of not liking SW, or accusing him of not acctully being the writter for the SW films, nore would they accuse him of using SG as much as they do, some of the NT scenes people think are CGI are not really CGI, like lots of Mustafar from Ep 3. Most of Mustafar was really good mini art including lots of Lava scenes.
