Vassal Armada Tournament - Signups / Results

By BiggsIRL, in Star Wars: Armada

The first part of the top of the table clash has concluded at the top of round 3.

Masseter is down a gladiator, with another one about to go through the Shredder. My Screed, however, is one Demolisher broadside away from destruction.

The mission is Fire Lanes, and it's still anybody's game. WHO WILL WIN?!? Stay tuned for the epic finale (once we figure out when we can play :P ), and in the meantime, please enjoy the log file for part 1. :)

Not seeing many results posted. Is everyone else finding it hard to arrange their games like Masseter and I are??

I didn't even know pairings were up till my opponent contacted me. Which is a shame I could of played at the weekend but am busy later this week/weekend :(

Well, that is why even though I put up the new match pairings early, I gave the full amount of time to get the game in from the point where they would have normally went up.

There is a fair chance I will be requesting an extension.

Get well soon!

Swissjack forfeits!?

Was kinda looking forward to a 3rd game...

Is this confirmed?

If anyone needs an extension on Thursday, let me know. It would be better if you all had your games in by then, but this is the final round and I think we don't want to see the top tables end with drops if a day or two could fix the issue.

I tried getting a match with Brozojoe, but we've been having a few snags by both of us. Hopefully we can get it done in time :D

Yeah. Sorry :(

Formally requesting an extension. I have a PM out to CC to schedule for Sunday or early next week.

Okay, I'll extend the schedule to the end of the weekend. Any more than that and it's just too long.

Thanks, Biggs - Masseter and I needed the extension too.

Hmmmmmm want the new large ships for Vassal. . . Need practice for Sullust

Problem is school and other events is starting :(

I want to play the game, don't get me wrong, its just finding a big enough block of time that we are both around for.

What's the update on this, since deadline is approaching?

As someone who ended up playing until after 1:30 AM (due to time zones) for all three games, Don't tell me how hard it is to get a game in.

Lol yeah, I played a guy in Poland and didn't go to sleep until after 3AM my time.

My time differences were 15, 4, and 6 hours respectively. The last proved the hardest (but there were other factors at play).

The update is that I really hope people are playing their games tonight and tomorrow.

I am trying to work out timing with Kovutalli, but it's been tricky.

I think we may want to take a page from the vassal Xwing tournaments where they have started putting people into 'Pods' to play vs people from similar time zones. For more info: http://teamcovenant.com/theorist/2015/09/07/2015-galactic-cup-round-1/

I'll let you know if we manage to get it done. Thanks for your patience :D

Yes, it is sad, but we didn't manage to find a timeslot to finish our game. Our work schedule, my ill child and a X-Wing tournament of doobleg came in the way (how did that go for you btw?). Fortunatelly all my opponents were very forthcoming to find a date and time to play. Time Pools like matt sugested would be an improvement. Another great thing would be more time to get those games in. My second game lasted nearly 5 hours. 2 weeks per game would have helped me a lot. It was a great tournament non the less and I'm looking forward to the second one ... preferably at 400 points when wave 2 is out for about a month. That would be great. Thanks for organising this!

Yeah, I was toying with the idea of a football (soccer) style tournament where you get into groups of 4 players with the best two going to the elimination rounds. We had a good run to this point with folks getting games in, but school starting up again in the states seemed to make Round 3 the worst for getting games in.

2 Weeks may be the way to do it going forward.I. Don't want people giving up the chance to find the winner here... If we went until all the outstanding players got their games in - how long would that take? Just post here with the time you would need.

Heh, I ended up having to work, so no play either way for me.

I'm not sure if Mass and I could find the time before next weekend. I honestly think it would be best to stick with your extended deadline, Biggs, and just go with the results that make it in tonight (a minor win from any of the top few games would clinch the title). Masseter and I will have to post a draw, which is a real shame as it could have gone either way (I'm ahead now, but Screed's about to die and my second Vic is similarly poised to take a beating), and it was a fun game to boot. :)
