Considering Luke was wearing a karate bathrobe with boots in episode four, I think this is an improvement.
Starkiller Base
Those ATs look like the neck extends out. Having fixed cannons would be stupid, betting the neck retracts for protection.

YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH RIGHT NOW BLACK IS THE BEST AND LUKE BRINGS BALANCE TO THE FORCE YOU BETTER TAKE IT BACK

Luke doesn't wear black in Episode 4.
He's talking about his moisture farmer outfit.

All outfits Jedi wear are some kind of bathrobe, let's be honest.
Though the episode six one is slightly less goofy then the norm.

Yeah, someone really ****** up that one.
"Well, Obi-wan dressed like this in Ep 4, so that must be what all Jedi wore."
No, Obi-wan was dressed as a Tatooine desert farmer because he was trying NOT to look like a Jedi...
This is just a photo-shop right?
These two white troopers in the foreground look so bad from behind and that wall of white and back shapes in the background just looks like a wall of white and back shapes trying to look like TIE's
And some CG...
Not to mention resting TIEs on their panels.
Offscreen is a mob of thousands of angry mechanics.
Ooooooooooooooooooh!Seriously, I don't give a toss about whether it makes sense in the timeline or the lore or whatever. The Interceptor is my favourite ship in Star Wars and I'll be disappointed if an updated version of them doesn't make it into the new movies.I was looking att he TIE hanger during the scenew hen the TIE fires its cannons while facing backwards, in the bottom left looks like the tip of a classic TIE Interceptor dagger solar pannel.Only standard hex-winged TIES, nothing Interceptor- or Bomber-looking. And the wing of the TIE in the foreground seems almost translucent. I swear I can see she shapes of the troopers standing behind it.
Id rather a normal squint than some jarjar update
I'm kinda tempted at this point to just repaint all of my TIEs in First Order colors...

Also they have said that they are keeping cgi effects to a minimal support role, mainly for the ships and space scenes. In the same spirit as the original trilogy they are using practical effects for robots creatures and explosions etc. That BB 88 droid is a real functioning remote control robot not a cgi effect.
****. I'm gonna' go out on a limb and say the helmet on the right side is a Rebel one.
And go out on a further limb and suggest perhaps, that the helmet on the left could belong to a Dark Trooper. It looks suitably robotic enough.

I'm glad to see they're not going full design-revisionist, though.
They canonised Dark Troopers in a game recently, didn't they?

I think they did, yeah. Not entirely sure. It was Commander, right..?
Either way, I enjoy what I'm seeing here. Star Wars is, as per usual nowadays being given all the full love it deserves.
The Imperial Star Destroyer from the trailer has a name now.
The ISD Finalizer.
I was hoping for The Grand Moff Tarkin.

I got a feeling a lot of you guys are purposely skipping Rebels but in doing so you are missing a lot of the background that is the Cannon now. All the old books are fun but can not be relied upon to be cannon, so if you want to know what Ties look like inside, how they land and what the pilots do when on a standard patrol watch Rebels.
Just get past the first few episodes and it starts to pick up, much like the Clone Wars, and Season 2 looks like it is just going to get better. It is also 100% Gungan Free!
Edited by Beatty^Canon or not, it's retarded.
I have actually watched Rebels, and other than the Vader episode, regretted it.
Legends canon is simply an alternate universe, one with far more depth and thought than Disney canon. I know which one I find more interesting.

That's why you pick and choose. This is exactly what I will do with the new canon, because it is not somehow exempt from bad writing.

But at least we won't see any stupid Kathols. (Trying to shoehorn in Cthulhu in the Star Wars universe was more retired than Jar Jar, and you know as well as me that is saying a lot.)
