I've only played my CR-90 a handful of times, and 300 points of Imperial swarm made quick work of her each time. (Admittedly, pilot error might also be to blame...) Now that the Raider is out (or, soon to be out for us non-GenCon plebes), what builds are you seeing/using on the CR-90?
The CR-90 in a Post-Raider World (Galaxy?)
I'm personally contemplating this when the raider is available properly. But there is an argument to building for the long range slugfest with more turbolasers instead:
2 x quad cannons
1 x ion battery
2 x tibanna gas supplies
1 x Sensor team
1 x Engineering team
1 x weapons engineer
1 x Shield technician
For a total of 128. I valued having actually having some okay shield regen over Han's augmentations for attacks. I'll just settle for having re-rolls from the lock. I don't think paying 4 for the Tantive IV title is worth trying to get him in too. The gas is there because the extra weapons eat energy so much that it's not possible to get moving and gun down ships that get too close. Ion battery is cool but can easily be swapped for a quad, I like the flexibility in range it offers over going full quad lasers and trusting everything at range 3 to the primary weapon.
Turbolasers on my CR-90 to hammer the enemy capital ship while I flank its blind spot with Procket A's and B-Wings!
Nah, leave the Killah-Bees with the Corvette.
The CR-90 has a further reach which may give it some advantage against the raider although when it comes to firepower the raider wins.
However it is not really the CR-90 vs the Raider (although that would be a cool cinematic scenario) is the CR-90/Raider/GR-75/Gozanti vs 150-300 points of standard ships that is the big obstacle to the CR-90. I already mention before that huge ships have a huge disadvantage of not being able to use focus results in an established gameplay mechanic where all standard ships can use the focus action and tokens. Now the CR-90 comes with Hans<crew> which allows target locks to be used as focus and the Gozanti Cruiser comes with Agent Kalluses which has a similar effect. Still the lack of wholesale change focus results to hits/evades is what is hurting huge ships in today's epic format.

I talked about this a lot in a whole nother thread and just got called a failure lol.
Anyway, it should be a fun epic vs epic match imo
versus fighters, im betting on fighters if the player doesnt get them all rammed.

Isn't Tibanna Gas Supplies Limited? I'm trying to build my first Epic list for Rebels for an upcoming game against the Raider, so it's all "new" to me still.
I almost think Roark is an auto-include in a CR-90 list. Getting to shoot the thing first before ions and the like start burning your energy off is huge.

A bit of a harsh summary, isn't it?
CR90 vs CR90 games in my experience resulted in a race to get the escort out. Whoever had a CR90 and a B-wing vs. a CR90 in the endgame would win. But the CR90 had a turret and nice side-arcs, perfect for strafing runs against another epic ship. The Raider might be more of a "in your face kind of Epic ship", I can't envision what kind of games it will generate.

Can the GR-75 be used as a blocker against the Raider? This might help the CR-90 take long-range potshots with Han's assist. I forget the rules for epic ship collisions as the moment. If it works, a 30+ point Transport might not be a bad idea to add to the fray.
VS
HMMmmm... it depends on how your gear them up, crew them, and ultimately how well you play. The big issue is that as other Star Brothers have pointed out, HUGE Ships can not use actions in the same way as Large and Small ships do. I am not convinced that matters much in a fight where these monsters are against each other, with only a dozen support ships on the table. The other issue is that EPIC is still a new'ish game because no one has really played it, certainly not as seriously as the stock 100 point game.
Might be time to really play this great game... now.

Drifting burned out hulk, with carbon scoring due to repeated turbolaser hits.
I can't wait till I get my Raider.
I also REALLY REALLY can't wait till Gozanti's, trick out one with a turbolaser and flank around the vette so it can be pounded from both ends.
As far as flying them, the CR-90 may be at a slight disadvantage due to its arcs. To get the most out of its weapons, it will present its broadside, while the Raider flies head on. During that opening exchange, the Raider's fore section will be reinforced, but no matter which section the CR-90 reinforces, the Raider will choose the other section as the target. If the CR-90 lods up on Single Turbolasers up front, then perhaps it can angle in such a way that it can get shots on the Raider with the fore section's side arcs, but still prevent attacks against the aft section.
I heard of somebody loading up a CR-90 with 3 Quad Laser Cannons and the Tactician crew. That's just mean, but it sounds effective for fighter control!
I think ultimately in Raider on Vette action the decider will be the support ships.
If a Gozer gets behind the vette and unleashes fighters on it's rear end, the vette is toast.
if the Raider get's B-wing flanked it's out of there.
Epic now is very interesting because both sides can deploy capital ships, meaning it's not big ship vs swarm any more.
Is Raider 2 Deci's Viable? (I can't wait to field it as it'll look wicked) Will TIE Swarm still be awesome?
Flankers with HLCs? Bombers?
I also REALLY REALLY can't wait till Gozanti's

Dunno about you boys... but THIS is in my near'ish future... DAT GLORY!!!
Are they only 1 Epic point?
Are they only 1 Epic point?
Come on Darius, you don't really think a little thing like that would stop JBR7 from buying the entire first shipment, do you?
Are they only 1 Epic point?
I think they are two points, but truth is, my Imperial Brother; at home in Boss' Parlor... there are going to be a few **** games with three Gon-Gon-Zillahs on the table!

There will be Rebels too of course... in heaps of trouble!

S'true.
Same reason I intend to get 3 GR75s.
I'm building an 8X4 game table in my garage, may as well use it for 1000/7 games - right?
X-wing: Apocalypse (psst, that's been taken) X-Wing: RAGNAROK!
I've calculated my current ships. 1000 points a side would be easy for all but Scum.

When you sending me that Nebbie?
... you selfish Some-Beach-You!

I am working with a 5x7 table myself. It is cool to go all out, if you can do... then DO IT!

Well The design is for any wargame, X-wing being my game of choice. 4X4 -4X8 are common though. So Yeah the objective will be to switch from space tiles/mats to flockmats. There is going to be a dedicated wargaming room.
