The Victory is a very flexible ship, pulling multiple duties as a long range hitter and squadron support. But, with the Imperial coming out, which will be more durable and effective at both these jobs (albeit at a higher points cost), are we really going to see Victories in many lists? I have a feeling we'll be seeing more Imperials mixed with Gladiators primarily with lists, possibly a raider to fill in points, and the Victory will be largely forgotten.
What'll happen to the Victory in Wave-II?
Hard to say without a better idea of whats happening in wave 2.
I'll bet there will be some juicy upgrades that come with the Imp, that we can put on Vics' too... ![]()
I think it will still be around. If you have a VSD II with Domnitator Screed and a few other upgrades they are deadly.
And as was said who knows what will be with the ISD. Maybe it will only have speed 1....
Heh, even if it did only have speed one, I think it'd be fine. It's just a moving fortress xD
The upgrades that potentially come with the Imperial, however, are a good point. Perhaps there will be some way to make the Victory more deadly.
Someone also suggested that the Victory-I could be used as a cheaper, more mobile squadron support.
Vic1 currently is the best 4squad carrier.
Vic2 could stil be used as a second flank, denies huge amounts of space.
ISD + Commdander 130
VSD 85
215 points. Add gladiators to the middle.
Considering we see star destroyers keeping up with the falcon in the movies, it shouldn't be speed 1.
The victory will remain relevant as it's the cheaper ship in the class. Ship activations are too important for it to not find a role. It's the Imperial that will need to be good enough to justify fewer activations.
as was said who knows what will be with the ISD maybe 5 or 6 command chits making it very slow to react
4 command
3 squad
4 engineering
speed of 3, like VSD up to 2, then 3 with - | |
I would prefer it only have 7 frontal dice, but I hear it has 9.
More side dice.
3 Command, 4 Squadron, assume at least 4 engineering.
Front Arc: 3 Red, 2 Blue, 3 Black
Side Arc: 2 Red, 2 Black

It will be used heavily by those who haven't finished saving up for ISDs such as myself. ![]()
I'd rather see it with 4 command... Plan ahead!!!

^ this guy, I feel his pain
Really, an evade? This thing gets an evade?
I wonder if it will get 5 Defense tokens or there will be a difference in tokens between the two variants.
There will probably be a difference. It's not like they're gonna change their card template just for this one ship.
OR! What if the new token is taken as an upgrade, and replaces one of your old tokens? That'd be pretty sweet, especially if you can take it on other ships like the VSD or Gladiator.
For 400 points you can field 4 Vic I 's...led by Vader and all the perks....egad!!! ![]()
Or 5 VSD 1's and Motti.

Yeah, it seems like one of the tokens is tied to an upgrade or differs between the models. I'd guess the former since any non-unique upgrade giving an ISD an evade is just silly.
I think all large ships get a Contain token. The evade is what gets me. . .
Do you think that putting the evade in that picture might have been an accident? It'd make sense, really.
Perhaps Vader(cmdr) uses the force and gives you an Evade.... ![]()
That... is not too much of a stretch?
I think Vader's card will resemble his X-wing version: a way to deal direct damage to other ships at the cost of his own ship's hull points. Soften them up first with that insane front arc then use the Force to finish them off like a boss.
There was a topic about the evade token a couple of months back. Someone made the good suggestion that the evade token reflects the sensor jamming that ISD's are capable of, making it harder to get a target lock on them at long range.
also I've seen somewhere that it will have a speed of 3.... if so, I don't think the victory will see many lists
