The pictures on the cards look better than even the 360° view of the Raider.
As someone who is seriously put off getting a Raider because I felt it looked stupid, I'm now curious:
How much better does it look in the flesh?

Let's put it this way: I took the Corvette and its pair of X-wing escorts off the display shelf and put the Raider up by itself.

I dunno, I can see something happening with Ozzel and a Shield Tech on the Instigator.
I find the Tie Interceptor wings slapped to the side of the Raider ridiculous, and the whole design throws me since there is that beautiful looking Imperial Customs crovette of the same size (somebody made a custom of it on the forum and it was stunning!)
That said, the Raider is growing on me. Love the underside detail - the Assailer title only hints at the detail and power put into the design. Love the engine detail. Had it not been the TIE wings slapped...

Yeah but its 7 points and you have no more crew slots for other stuff. Not terrible, but there's definitely some strong competition for those crew slots...

Considering how good the Corvette looks, that says a lot. Perhaps I've been a bit harsh on the Raider.

Yeah but its 7 points and you have no more crew slots for other stuff. Not terrible, but there's definitely some strong competition for those crew slots...
Oh sure there is, but Instigating a Recover for 0 netting you a shield which can be transferred to extra energy might seem a bit... convoluted, it would allow you to power up those Gunnery Teams, fire the main lasers again or dump it into Engine Boosting.

Instigator + Shield Technician (without Ozzel) is a pretty good combo: you get a free shield every turn, for a total of 4 points and just 1 crew slot.
