How to gain attachments as imperials

By Jaden Ckast, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

So I'm new to the game so please go easy haha. Anyways we've played through 2 story missions and a side mission so far and I noticed that there is a card deck for imperials that have a bunch of attachment cards. However they have no cost associated with them so how do I gain them? My guess is we haven't gotten far enough along in the missions and they are gained by winning the mission as imperials? Is this correct or am I missing something?

At the end of a mission, when it says "all players gain 1 xp", ALL players gain 1 xp - including the Imperial player. Imperial player was supposed to choose a class deck to start with and they play with that deck the rest of the game. You purchase cards (attachments) from that deck with xp Imperial player earns.

Ok so if I understand this right... There is a storm trooper deck, imp officer deck and a deck with a bunch of black imperial troops on the front. I choose one of these 3 decks to pick from for the whole campaign? The deck with a bunch of imperial officers has a lot of cards that don't have a cost on them so if I chose that deck how would I purchase those cards?

All cards but 1 in each of the class decks should have an xp cost in the lower right hand corner I believe. You purchase them for xp in between missions the exact same way that the Rebels pay for their abilities.

Here are some rules directly from the rulebook when setting up a mission:

Choose Imperial Class: Then the Imperial player chooses an

Imperial Class deck and places the basic card (the card without

an experience cost) faceup in his play area.

And heres the rules on purchasing:

During a campaign, the Imperial player can purchase new

cards during each Imperial Upgrade Stage. He can first spend

experience points to purchase new Class cards and then influence

to purchase new Agenda cards.

To purchase Class cards, the Imperial player examines all cards

in his Class deck and may purchase as many cards as he wishes

by spending XP equal to the cards’ costs. Once purchased, he

retains the cards for the remainder of the campaign.

I find that this Quick reference guide is extremely helpful when first playing:

Ok ya your right that other deck does only have 1 card with no XP cost. When we played the other night I swear they didn't but must have just overlooked that. Thanks a bunch for the help that reference looks like it'll be a huge help! Lastly, that other deck with the black imperials, that's sort of like a mixed bag/misclanneous deck it looks like right? Cuz a lot of em don't have class restrictions. Some specifically say trooper only or droid only but most don't have that. Is that usually the better class deck to choose since you can find stuff that benefits a lot of the troops vs just a single class?
