"for ever burning" and ever...and ever...and ever...

By Dayne, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

So lets say that I have two influence standing during Dominance...

I play for ever burning on a character, I kneel one influence I take back for ever burning from the pile...Then I play for ever burning on the same character...I pay another influence and I take back forever burning again and play it on the same character...

Can I actually do that ?

Yes, why not? :) You shuold do this!

Yeah, as long as influence is coming from two separate kneel actions.

Thanks for the quick response and sorry for posting this on the genaral discussion section and not on the rules...

This used to be a lot more fun when there were more terminal effects around.

It'll be nice with the new Assassin....

There are quite a few now (flamekissed, drogon, the location that gives -4, the assasin, dragon skull, Dragon Attack)

I miss dothraki sea.

I miss it too, but I raise your missed Dothraki Sea to a I miss the House of Warlocks even more. llorando.gif

I miss Bathed in Flame more than either location - but I do miss both lcoations.

I miss Festering Wound grievously.

I kinda miss Eviscerate, but not a whole lot.

Half Targ's temminal effects never make my decks. Drogon and Flame Kissed are auto includes. The Assassin looks pretty strong - I burned down a STR 5 Amry wiht him and a pair of FBs Friday night. (and an additional -1 for the Winter Plot). The rest all all sort of meh IMO. Tower is too expensive, not enough Dragons yet for Dragon attack (though Hatchlings will help). the skull still ahsn't made the cut in any of my decks....

5 cards + at least 3 gold that turn for a two character swing...has targ really gotten this bad that that combo is considered 'pretty strong'?

Is there some advantage for wanting to do this though that I am missing? It says in the rules "power is awarded for dominance before any player has an opportunity to take actions (such as playing an event card that stands a knelt character or steals gold from another players gold pool)." So reducing a characters STR wouldn't occur until after dominance is figured?

He probably thinks about cards like Drogon or Aegon's Legacy.

The reason you do this in Dominance phase has nothing to do with an attempt to win dominance but because that is the phase that you can recycleForever Burning. And yes when it is coupled with a terminal effect, it allows you to just burn through a very strong character with nothing short of a cancel from interfering.

Four cards actually, unless you are counting the Plot. Obviously a mid game sitaution where gold isn;'t an issue and the FB cycle is already established.

And yeah - it isn't a lock down play, and yeha I ahd a Claim 2 Plot out obviously, so i could have just stealtehd him and he probably would have gone for claim or gottten claimed a turn or two down the road - but teh pint is: you can burn mid size armies now. I sure as hell had trouble doing that since I&F rotated and I got a 2 STR MIL/INT to bott. Say what you will - the KLA is a pretty strong card and Shadows brun looks pretty viable at the moment.
