E-Web engineer and Rebel troopers attacks

By cvallinie, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Hi all,

Could you please clarify the following unclear points for me :)

e-Web engineer:

In the campaign, its special rule allows to attack twice with its 2 actions.

In Skirmish, is this rule disallowed due to the general rule that no figure can use 2 attack actions? Can the e-web engineer still fire twice in Skirmish?

Rebel trooper:

Not specific to skirmish rules actually. Aim says that if you haven't moved in this activation you can add the listed bonuses (added wounds and Pierce).

Does it mean that you can Aim as your first action THEN move with the second action during each activation?

Thanks in advance

C.

The E-Web Eng can attack twice in skirmish, or campaign as the Assault ability specifically states that you can attack multiple times thus overruling the core rule. This is obviously the same for other figures with assault like Fenn and IG-88.

Rebel troopers can shoot first gaining the benefits from aim, and then move after.

Special rules > general rules

Therefore, the e-web engineer can fire twice in Skirmish.

Yes, you can Aim as your first action THEN move with the second action during each activation.

Aim isn't really an action, it's a conditional benefit you get while attacking. But yeah, if you attack before moving, you do get the benefits of aim, and then you can move. Under most circumstances, they will also benefit from aim if they are allowed to attack while it isn't their turn. I can't think of a way for the Rebels to grant an out-of-turn attack in skirmish currently, but Leia will be able to.

Gideons "Take it Down" card is a perfect example of this.

Good call. And in that case, Aim would apply.

Thanks for the answers, I appreciate the thorough responses opening my eyes to new tactics

"Aim: If you have not exited your space during this activation, apply +1 DMG and +2 Accuracy to your attack results."

I thought the out of turn attacks were not activations and therefore the bonus would not apply.

Hmmm. The card specifies "this activation" rather than "your activation". It could very well be referring to the current activation, no matter which deployment card the activation belongs to.

This is exactly right. So for example if Gideon first moved the trooper the 2 spaces with his one ability and then used take it down aim would not proc, but if he just used take it down and the trooper hadn't moved during Gideon's activation then aim would proc.

mmm i think that the rebel trooper is not posible to use the aim and after to move, because in the card "Aim: If you have not exited your space during this activation, apply +1 DMG and +2 Accuracy to your attack results" and in this activacion have 2 accions 1 for shoot and other for move. I think when the rebel trooper use AIM he not posible to move in the ALL activacion, is posible to take a box to open the door but not movei think.

Aim doesn't say anything about not being able to move afterward. The wording is very clear. "If you have not ..." -- not "If you do not ..."

If you meet the condition at the time you attack, you get the bonus. There is no restriction on what you do after getting the bonus.
