Can't wait to see this!
Original Trilogy will always be best.
But this looks wicked!
Interesting. So its looking like the drop ship we've been seeing flashes of stormtroopers inside in previous trailers from the outside look like conventional wet navy landing craft.

Looks pretty cool. Cannot wait to see this.

Makes sense, given the source material.
You know what I love about these shots? I see stormtroopers everywhere, as well as TIE pilots. No imperial army troopers - and good riddance!
I think the imperial army was a misconstruction of the cell block guards' status. Given where it was (the first death star) and who was being held there (an enemy spy), it's far more plausible they were Imperial Intelligence.
I love the look of the drop ships having a homage to WW2 landing craft.
By post #7 we are veering off into the Army Trooper debate? Please no! ![]()
The drop ship ramp looks like what we just saw in the other thread from drone pictures of Ep. 7 sets.

I believe those were drone shots of Rogue One.
They are similar to Rogue One:
Rogue 1:

Hard to say what we're looking at. Since Rogue One is supposed to be a "Zero Dark Thirty" style film it's possible that we're seeing the prow of a higgins boat style dropship or the tail of a CH-47 styled shuttle. The orange section suggests it's different then TFA dropship, also there's little winglets just behind the ramp that appear as if there will be more CGed in to increase the size of the finished craft. CG set extensions are assured though as you can see those variable reach forklifts in the back fitted with large bluescreen paneling so they can rapidly and easily set up anything for later keying.
Any ideas' what the black tent on top of the craft would be? I know some directors like to direct from a tent like that (so they are forced to focus on one what the cameras see) but it seems odd to place it on top of the set piece like that.
Here are some better pictures, showing off officers, gunners, pilots, and AT-ATs

Man, I hate it when my tailor is sewing me a new pair of pants and starts running out of material halfway down.

That seems the most plausible answer given the old suits and the Rebel blaster rifles lying nearby. Those are possibly Rebel commandoes dressing up as Stormies? To confirm, does anyone recognize any of the faces in the trooper armor as established actors? My first impression looking at them doesn't seem to make me think just extras dressed up in Stormtrooper armor, but actual actors. Also, if you look at the people resting up the landing ramp they are dressed vaguely like Rebel commandoes from Yavin (but we don't get a good look at them).
The only issue I have is the loading ramp looking quite a bit like the front of the landing craft we see in the new Korean trailer (see other thread) as part of the New Order's army for Episode 7. That could be explained away also as a desire to use new digital art and manufactured props across Ep. 7 and Rogue One to save money and add some continuity. Perhaps we are seeing some new landing craft built during the Rebellion era supplied by the new Disney canon? I would have liked to have seen the same craft dropping off troopers at Tatooine and Yavin, but perhaps it can be explained away as Lambda shuttles for non-combat drops and this new craft when going into an obvious hot drop?
WOW!!!!

I'm thinking rigging for filming from the roof for interior shots? So that the camera can be hoisted up or down during filming to provide epic over-head shots while exiting the ramp, but also floor to head shots interior?
That's my thought at least.

Those are called breeches, a type of riding (animal) pants, worn by the impetial officers in the original trilogy, though jodhpurs are much more common now.
As to the identity of the storm troopers, no recognition as being any known actors, thd small group of them leads me to believe they are likely stunt actors for a shot.

....not a bad theory....

They do look pretty amazing.
I'm guessing FFG will stat them out in an Episode VII Core Rulebook. ![]()
It gets better every day!!!
It gets better every day!!!
That's awesome. The visuals thus far may be the best we've seen in the series or is that just the fan boy in me?
AT-ST "helmet" with unknown purpose or are we looking at some sort of cyborg?

Looks like some kind of barding, not a cyborg.
