The first build is more of an offensive build allowing both ships to do good damage and control. Guri can basically 1 hit some smaller ship or anything under 5 hull with that crack shot it makes it even more deadly. The second is more defensive for the firespray. It allows hims to roll four or five dice defensively which is awesome for preserving him as long as possible while dishing out damage so that way guri can clean up late game where i try to save Adv Proton Torpedo to gain an edge in those 1v1 fights

Any change I should change? My biggest dilemma is finding a good modification for Boba. Engine upgrade is awesome but I'm not too keen on using his action to move forward as it leaves him open to take heavier hits.

Trying to run Guri + Boba as a 2 ship list is probably not the most competitive set-up.

I would definitely try to squeeze in a 3rd ship by trimming off some of the excessive upgrades.

I also don't think some of the upgrades you've chosen will work well, but you can try them and see how they go. For example, advanced protons on Guri are a nice idea, but you are kind of turning her into a suicide ship---hoping to deal one nasty round of damage before she goes down, and in a two ship list, I don't think that is generally a good idea (although it can work with Jake & Han, but mainly because Han is so much harder to kill than Boba).

The main reason to have Engine Upgrade on Boba is not to get into range 1 faster, but to help him get out of a sticky situation. For example, let's say in the first round of shooting, the enemy is at range 3 of boba. Boosting into range 1 would be a bad idea assuming there's a number of enemy ships who will all get to shoot at him with range 1 bonuses (despite his re-rolls, he's gonna take some hurt). Instead, you dial in a hard turn for the next round, and when they move forward to joust with you, after turning boba away, you can use boost to get out of their arcs and still have a shot with boba's back arc. It means you don't get to make use of boba's ability (too far away), but any turn where you are getting to shoot (even unmodified) and your opponent isn't, is an advantage for you.

For boba, I think veteran instincts or lone wolf are good choices for EPT. If you run engine, vet. instincts is nice because it allows boba to deal with PS9 arc-dodgers better. At PS10, a bomb is also a good idea.

For Guri, predator/push the limit + advanced sensors is fun and pretty effective (although be careful of getting focus fired). Lone wolf + sensor jammer is very tanky, but requires careful flying and good prediction of your opponent's moves to get the most value out of. Autothrusters is kind of a must have.

Yeah. Generally taking two ships and maximizing the upgrades just because doesn't make for a very competitive list. I know Stealth Device came in the Slave 1 pack, but it doesn't work well on the ship. Engine Upgrade is the way to go. The problem with SD on large base ships is the fact that you are likely going to be targeted by multiple ships in a round. Harder to arc-dodge with them. Unless your green dice are hot, the SD will probably get shot off fairly quickly. It works on Soontir because he has all those tokens and can minimize how many ships are shooting at him by arc-dodging.

For your first list I'd drop the HLC, Lone Wolf for VI and APTs and grab a Z-95 with Feedback Array to throw in there. I think you'll get more utility out of a blocker and be able to throw a damage on to hard to hit ships. Lone Wolf can be a bit redundant on Boba, but its not horrible. VI lets you move after most pilots which is pretty crucial with a Firespray with EU.
