I use this map: http://starwarsatlas.uw.hu/map/layer/wookiee.htm
Every planet listed is a link to that planet's page on Wookiepedia. This feels the most like what you'd get in a navicomputer or something.

I made a very high res .jpeg map for myself and my group out of the Fantasy Flight one using a camera. I'm not sure if publishing it online somewhere would be a copyright violation.

It would be as it came from a copyrighted source, the FFG book.
There are so many wildly different maps for Star Wars published, with the same planets all over different places.
Searching into EDGE studio (the spanish publisher, but also the game line graphic designer) I've arrived at the online portfolio site:
http://edgestudio.prosite.com/385717/5421025/our-works/star-wars-edge-of-the-empire-graphic-design
And if you go down you can find the english map in jpg, but not in a high resolution as the spanish one.

Migh want to ask directly for a higher resolution version

Thanks for the link, but ****, that CoC 6th limited edition they made. That has to be one of the sweetest tabletop RPG limited editions I've seen. A piece of art! If only there was an English version...
The highest resolution version I can find in Spanish is at http://www.edgeent.com/sisimg/downloadable/galaxy_map.jpg
I’m still looking for a better/higher resolution version in English.
I asked Edge if they would sell me a print of the map. They said no. So, once again, people just don't want our money. We're throwing money at the screen and nothing is happening.
Take my money and give me a poster print of the FFG map!
It's getting really annoying now to be honest.
I’m starting to think that maybe we need to commission a map to be made from the same data and based on the same information, but done by someone else with resolution-independent tools. This way, you could print the thing out as big as you want.
Get a few of us together, and I can’t imagine that it would be that expensive for any one single person, right?
EDIT: Or if MODI is still alive, maybe get the original artist to re-create it?
Edited by bradknowlesI have one in english, I just do not know how to upload it or make it available to everyone.

Put it on dropbox (or other file-sharing site) and give us the public link.
Or send me the link via PM and I’ll put it up on my dropbox account, and post the public link.
Well someone needs to do something because I contacted Edge once again, referring them to their high resolution foreign language map. I asked if they could please publish the English language version in the same resolution, so it can be zoomed in on and not lose quality.
Their answer? They said they don't have the rights to put it out in the English language version, and that I need to ask Fantasy Flight...hah! If I ask FFG why do I get the feeling they'd ask me to ask Edge? But anyway, FFG say in their SWEOTE FAQ that they don't/won't produce the map as a print, but I still think they need to be bugged the Hell out of to do it. We would pay good money for a real good paper stock poster version that can go on the wall. Hell, I'd frame it!
Maybe we need to all flood Chris's office with emails complaining about the lack of a map we can download or buy as a print map. Or maybe everyone or goes to gen con or any convention they are at complain about the lack of map.

That's still a reasonably high resolution... 1659x1077. I'd love a higher res, but that's plenty for my intended uses...
I do intend to trim it, then reverse the color for printing on my B&W laser printer.

I think every map of the Star Wars galaxy I've ever seen has been in fundamental disagreement about the absolute and relative locations of key sectors and planets...
Regardless... that's really nice work on the translation from what I saw, and I'm definitely saving that image.

Awesome work! I saved that image on my ipad, it's going to be really useful to reference it whenever I need to show my players where they are.

That is mainly because a lot of maps have the galatic west down at the bottom, while others have the west on the left. It looks better when the "empty" unknown regions are on the bottom of the map.

Oh wow, I completely disagree...I have always preferred it when they orient the map such that the Unknown Regions are to the left.
Though it's unsuitable for printing, this ( http://www.swgalaxymap.com/ ) has lately been my preferred mapping go-to. Zooming, panning, full-screen, and links to Wookieepedia everywhere...it's everything I'd ever hoped for in a galaxy map.

That's why I noted the differences in relative positions as well... even rotating the map (any number of degrees) doesn't address many of the divergences.

Thanks! I will fix it posthaste
Oh and the Force Awakens beginner game will have a galaxy map woot
Estacasion Junkfort = Junkfort Station - Grid T8
Nueva Cov = New Cov - Grid P14
Neuva Apsolon = New Apsolon - Grid P10
La Rueda = The Wheel - Grid R7
Grid O5 has Confluencia which is Confluence, not sure what this is supposed to be though
Borgo Prima = Borgo Prime - Grid M6
And as mentioned earlier Rakata Prima at Grid G11
Those are all I can see right quick, I have another game starting soon, but I'll gladly give it a more thorough look sometime this weekend I hope.
Great work, I actually started this myself last week. LOL
